i man the reception desk and direct people to the correct desk for help.. don't ever leave your purse in a car- it can get stolen (broken windows)- so take it with you or lock it in the trunk.. don't ever keep your social security card in your wallet or purse.
if it gets stolen, you are a prime candidate for identity theft.. over 25% of the people coming in to get identity cards , i see driving their car out of the parking lot.
Nope, they are controlled through the proprietors state liqour license. I grew up in California and spent many hours in their establishments. When with friends we could ask for the dice cups to wager for the tab. Several games are possible with 2 cups containing 5 dice each. Cash games were a no no.

It has not been a week since I was in a conversation with a couple of other people and we all agreed on the following observation about the BMV, or DMV, whatever.
I handle 90% of my DMV by mail but on the occasions I have to go into an office I cannot help but notice that the class of people there (the customers, not the staff) look like extras from the Grapes of Wrath. The porticos outside are lined up with smokers. Scruffy, unshaven, raggedy clothes, etc.
Why are there no 'regular' looking people? They drive cars too. If this was the county welfare department it would be logical. But the Motor Vehicle department?
Any thoughts?

a close friend of ours who is a jw recently found out she had to have a double mastectomy and removal of lymph nodes due to cancer.
she and her husband do not have medical insurance because he was laid off a few years ago from his union job.
he started his own business but work has been slow.... anyway, having a pre-existing condition, the only insurance he could get her was through kaiser.
Kind of scares the hell out of you when thinking of needing surgery. JW blood issues or not. What incompetance!

As a kid I clearly remember my uncle Roy, congregation servant at the time, giving a tongue lashing to a brother who had used the term "broad"in refering to a female. This 'counseling' took place in the parking lot after a meeting one night and I don't think anyone else heard it.
It made me very aware of the word but I never could understand why it was so bad. "Chick" seems rather mild, even sweet in a way.
[these events took place roughly between 5:30 and 6:30 am, november 13th in terminal 2 of the san diego international airport.
i'm writing this approximately 2 1/2 hours after the events transpired, and they are correct to the best of my recollection.
having left the area, he stated, i would be subject to a civil suit and a $10,000 fine.
