Get 'deleted' or resign as a ministerial servant?

i'm a ministerial servant for some years now, but reached to the conclusion that i must get out of jws as soon as possible.

i can no longer waste my time in field service, at the kh or doing menial jobs for the congregation.

for some months now my field report is with one digit at the hours section and with empty spaces in magazines, brochures and the others.

I would go for quitting over being fired. Yes, it might be tricky to resign.

A suggestion would be to use one of their pet phrases on them, "a matter of conscience". No details. They will think you are doing something borderline "a matter of conscience" and you will know it is because you know they are a friggin' cult you don't want to be a part of anymore, again, "a matter of conscience". If they press you for juicy juice just stand firm and ask that they respect your feelings. If a knucklehead comes right out and asks if you've been doing anything "unscriptural" just say No.

being an immigrant before being a jw, i was always inclined to root for the democrats.. even until 2 years ago (look at my old posts) i used to make fun of and criticize bush.. i used to even hate the republicans for trying to be the moral police of everything.. .

this has changed.. thanks to you guys, obama and the agenda to re-distribute the wealth of this country's citizens............. i oppose your agenda.. liberals true stripes are showing in bankrupting this country.. .

The three usual suspects and others in the same category shown above have been building their political (not XJW) personas on this site for 2+ years. They rarely if ever post anything addressing the core purpose of this site. Obviously their true interests lie elsewhere.

They have done their part part to discourage respectful dialogue on political issues. They seem to have a natural bent for snide put downs, harsh character judgements, posting long clips of extreme, obscure pundits who they agree with while declaring pundits on the conservative side as unnacceptable sources of rebuttal. Their approach closely resembles the trash talk of college football fans before the big game. They are boastful in victory, spiteful in defeat.

They have turned this part of JWN into their playpen. Fortunately, there are several posters here who have the patience to provide rebuttals. Sorry, but in this case I think it is pearls before swine. One finds it easy to be pulled down into their game of snark.

They are here to make noise and provoke. They are not interested in changing minds or discussing a truly interesting subject, how we are governed.

Ifanything happens to Sarah Palin I wonder if the media will point to liberal, violent hate speech that has been gushing nonstop for 2 years.

Scary to think about some of the statements by liberals, some named above, calling for the use of force to silence those who disagree with them.

The redistribution is that of the parasite rich sucking up the blood of the productive. Instead of re-redistributing it through taxes; which would only legitimize their unearned, thieving salaries; they should be purged from society like tapeworms.

As undercover points out, wars, such as Korea and Vietnam, where politicians tried to 'finesse' their prosecution have been a horrible waste of blood and treasure with no objectives realized.

The Afghan war is going to continue to spill over into Pakistan. N Korea is spoiling for trouble. Both nations have the "bomb" in quantity.

As James Woods has, I have read more than a few books on that era but the one that was most meaningful to me was the bio "Truman" which put the Japan atom bomb deployent in vivid context. Truman made his decision and never uttered one word of regret or doubt for the rest of his life. This was a man of great common sense and moral integrity.

If we had a Democratic party today that reflected Truman's values, I'd be a Dem.

We used to shop at a market that had a grinder next to a big bin of roast peanuts. We could stand there and pour the nuts in the top and viola!, like a watching a dog in the park. It could be adusted for chunky.

Didn't know that Jif put out an old fashioned pb. Maybe I was thinking of Jiffy Lube.

Peanut butter on bread with no jelly, honey, mayo or pickle...etc?

Sounds OK, but I would need a glass of milk or buttermilk to help wash it down.

PS The Jiffy brand is not "Old Fashioned". The hydrogenated oil helps make it smooth and spreadable. The real stuff separates in the jar and has to be stirred up but many prefer the more peanutty taste.

"True Grit" remake. Review

the remake of true grit by the coen brothers (fargo, o' brother where art thou?, etc.

) was a pleasant surprise.

3:10 to Yuma was OK but it had glaring continuity errors that were so distracting, to me anyway, that I didn't enjoy it that much.

In the beggining of the film Christian Bale has a family he is trying to support on a hard scrabble farm inspite of the fact he has lost a leg in the Civil War and can barely gimp around. His compensation for the injury was a few measly dollars. That is why he takes on the dangerous job of escorting Russell Crowe to the train.

In the ensuing action Bale is never seen gimping again, he is jumping around, on and off his horse, in gun battles etc. Also, Peter Fonda, is gut shot at point blank range with a Colt 45 but he continues ride, shoot and fight for another day or so.

I wouldn't put the original in the category of GWTW or Citizen Kane! It was an entertaining John Wayne vehicle and he won the Oscar. The current version stands on its own. Roger Ebert sees potential Oscar nominations for Bridges and the young female lead.
