You can marry anyone as long as you get the license ($) and return it to the clerk with all signatures after the deed is done.. I have some outlines for the ceremony but they are all JW POV.

I Was Asked To Perform A Marriage Ceremony But Don't Know I'm Qualified
by minimus inmy girlfriend's daughter and her fiancee asked me to marry them last night.
they live in connecticut and will be married in new york.
i felt honored that i was asked but i don't think i can do it because i am not a clergyman or minister and my u derstanding is that only clergy or judges and lawyers and justice of the peace can perform a wedding ceremony and marry a couple.. does anyone have any information on this subject?

My dear old uncle was rather eccentric when it came to being tight with a nickel. He had plenty of money because he never spent it. Never bought anything 'new' - cars, clothes, tools, you name it. He also liked to check out the dumpsters behind stores, like he would find moldy cheese still in the package. He would rinse it with vinegar and eat it, etc. Once he found a box of 8 1/2 X 11 heavy paper in bright florescent colors, green, yellow, pink and so forth. On one side various words like SALE! or CLEARANCE! or SUPER VALUE! were printed in big black letters at the top so the store could write in the price, etc. with a heavy marker. This paper had never been written on. A very much loved older sister died and he was asked by the family to give the memorial service. The Hall was packed. Because the reading glasses he got at the second hand store didn't work very well he had to hold his notes up. I felt like crawling under my chair when, you guessed it, he had written his notes on the back of his florescent paper with the above words facing the audience. -

JW Info-Commercial Memorial Service
by William Penwell ini attended a jw memorial service about 2 years ago and the speaker i thought gave a good eulogy to the diseased even though he quoted a few scriptures.
just recently i attended another jw memorial and the sermon was about 10 minutes on the person and the rest a big info-commercial with a scripture quoted one after the other.
i did not keep count but i would think the speaker read about 10 - 12 scriptures.

Thanks for the clarification. Interesting changes. I appreciate the heads up about external storage devices. If the house burns down we lose it all anyway.

New explanation of Gog of Magog: Two Gogs?
by leaving_quietly ini just finished watching the recording of the talk at the annual meeting that re-explains gog of magog.
i caught something not previously talked about, that i can recall.. gog of magog is thought to be a coalition of nations that attach god's people during the great tribulation.
this is from ezekiel 38 & 39.. gog and magog in revelation 20 represents those with the same attitude as gog of magog.. thus, the new teaching (maybe not new, but i'll have to research this) is that gog in ezekiel is not the same as gog in revelation 20. two different gogs, happening about a thousand years apart.. .

I am not a tech person but have been interested in all the talk about the CLOUD.
Correct me if I'm wrong -
My computor has memory/storage built in. Tons of stuff, family photos, personal records, my unfinished books. But there are limits. We have added zip drives (like a storage locker?) and try to dump stuff regularly.
If we connected to the cloud we would not need a storage for all this stuff?

I have been to many JW funerals/memorials. My Grandparents, aunts and uncles. They are shabby affairs that do not recognize the deceased except in passing. Dissapointing as an occasion to recognize the individual you loved.
