Question for those attending mid week
by All for show indo you all know how many attend vs sundays?
talking to friends and family all find it so boring/difficult to sit through they say their meeting midweek attendance is about 50 percent less than sundays, with at least 15 percent of those leaving at the half.
we have had 3 local needs this year on staying the entire meeting, but people still leave, happily.

The 15 min. break between the public talk and the WT study used to be excruciating when I was a youngster. Dad and Mom would stay for the WT about 75% of the time but would wait till the last minute to slip out if that was the plan . I would watch them like a hawk. Once in awhile they would catch my eye and give a nod towards the door. I felt like I was being released from prison! But when they sat back down for the WT study I was sooo disappointed.

by Chris Tann inthis is a question a sincere christian may agonize over after learning that some books of the bible were rejected by certain early christian groups,while other books that did not make the canon were accepted.
also,when one realizes that so called inspired writers of the greek scriptures quote from apocrypha,that most christians reject today,one wonders if these writings that include these quotes should even be in the bible.. it is true that when it comes to the christian greek scriptures the canon has been closed for many centuries.
also, these books have been accepted by christians ever since the second,perhaps first,century.

Update: Compromise of sorts reached regarding my child

i was told i had cancer, then didn't have it, then did.
then found out my best friend had pretty much the same cancer, it spread, she died this month.

I would read to her the scriptures (paraphrasing) "...time and unforseen circumstance befall us all..." or "...god let's the rain fall on both the good and the bad..." or "...not a single sparrow falls from the sky unnoticed by Him..." and many more in this line of thought. It contradicts completely your husbands putting your illness, loss of good friend and condemned habit into the class of some mumbo jumbo superstition.
PS. There are many true accounts of JW's killed in auto accidents on their way to meetings and field service.

A question for my friends in the USA about cowboys.
by punkofnice inas a kid growing up in the uk we used to play 'cowboys and indians' and watch high chaparal and bonanza along with other cowboy films.
later, in the 70's kung fu would be shown with caine going through the 'old west'.
we even had a chocolate bar that was marketed with a 'cowboy' theme...milky bar.. as far as i know the 'wild west' as shown on tvdidn't actually exist.. are there people that believe it did?.
