in syria, protesters have now burned the norwegian and danish embassys to the ground.

the latest news is that they are rioting in copenhagen, denmark, where 200 moslems have stormed the sentral station (the railwaystation), and throwing bricks and rocks.

I don't think the black/criminal is an apples for apples analogy. I am not a racist.

"Every single" Muslim? Of course not. But MOST of them. The so-called 'moderate' Muslims are completely silent about the extremists acts of terror against innocent people. Many make excuses for their silence. They say they are AFRAID to speak out against the murderers who have hijacked their religion. Well, that doesn't cut it. Like a wife who is afraid to speak up to a mate that is abusing the kids, she becomes an accomplice.

hey, I said don't get me started.

Remember those great horror movies of the fifties like "War of the Worlds" and, my fave, "The Thing". There was always a naive do-gooder that wanted to 'reason' with the evil monster and try to be friends. They always got zapped or had their heads knocked off.

The Islamic extremists have shown again and again how much 'mercy' they are capable of - zero.

(Speaking of 50's horror movies, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" is a great analogy of what the JW's do to people. But that's another thread)

If the Red Sea ferry disaster or the Pakistan earthquake had killed thousands of non muslims the muslims would be dancing in the streets, not offering aid. Don't get me started on these sheepfuckers. Can you imagine how long it would take them to decide wether or not to use a nuke on the cartoonist and the city he lives in? 30 seconds? In a way, I'm glad that Iran is defiantly proceeding with their nuclear weapons program. They will leave the west no choice, somebody is going to have to settle their hash.

If we in the west are so naive and sheltered that we can't recognize a real enemy and act decisively, then we are in deep doodoo. We need to fight like cornered wildcats as Israel does.

i am a newbie here- but have been reading a lot of the ex jw boards and websites for a while as a newly minted evil apostate :).

so i remember hearing -here or somewhere else, i can't remember, that tonight at the "theocratic ministry school" or "kingdom ministry school" (???

aah- i can't even remember if that is the name - i haven't gone to a meeting in ~ 4 years or so) they are going over some new information on the blood issue.

Reading this brought back a lot of angry feelings. Like the use of the word "wisely" in reference to having some kind of super duper insurance to pay for costly non blood procedures or "wisely" carrying around a NO BLOOD card in your wallet. After decades of leaving witnesses and the local okie elders to deal with their traumatic, emergency, blood situations they have come up with these committees to help them make stupid decisions with the Societys' direct input. Of course, Kerry Loudermilk-Pooter has now made their presentation to doctors a lot trickier. But the main thing about this letter is what it doesn't say or even elude to. The fact that you still better be prepared to let your loved one die. Why not sum up the letter with a statement like "of course, if all other recourse fails and a faithful Christian or their minor dependant should die for lack of a simple blood transfusion then we take comfort in knowing they will resurrected after Armageddon (which, last time we checked, was due sometime maybe in the latter half of this century, but don't hold us to that. After all, we're only human" ) Sorry, but the people who let the WTB$TS deal with them this way deserve what they get, ala, Darwins theory in action.

Speaking in tongues

there's something which has crossed my mind too often, after doing some research, meeting people myself- i have become more convinced that speaking in tongues was mis interpretered wrongly by the pentecostals.

i would be interested to hear jw's view of speaking in tongues and why jehovah witness classify them as one of the christodom.

which of their any of their customs/traditions which bible doesnt support, i am just trying to make myself aware, with help if possible.. clarification would be much appreciated

Gibberish spoken during emotional religeous rites are common amongst all primitive religions, as are physical manifestations like fainting, violent jerking, etc. Kind of like turkeys who can be caused to drop dead by sudden noises. Rather than a higher state of spirituality it is really showing a more primitive side of the human animal.
