Skeptic, you are probably right. I don't lay awake over crop circles. But if people are doing it it is a fantastic, clever trick. The board and rope scenario doesn't cut it for me, no pun intended.

are you(r) alternate explanations more or less 'impossible' than a person or group creating such patterns, given that persons/groups have indeed demonstrably created such patterns?
I said I was 'puzzled'. I have no explanation or even a guess. But I disagree that it has been demonstrated that people have the ability to copy some of these designs on some huge scale, even when given the advantage of daylight and not being concerned about detection. check these out

Has there ever been any definitive explination for these things? The real answer is NO. I am one of the worlds most dyed in the wool atheist/skeptics on supernatural/alein phenom. etc. but I must say crop circles are a real fascinating puzzle. It seems downright impossible for a person or group to make some these intricate, perfect designs overnight without leaving any clues or being observed.

Why child sex offenders must be NEUTRALIZED.
by Gregor inin many parts of the world when a male or female reaches puberty they are considered potential mates.
this is especially true in the culture of many countries in south america as well as the more rural areas of the us.
this is not what i am concerned about.

Cutting off penises or mutilating vaginas has nothing to do with this problem. Surgical castration of a male removes the testicles, which are the glands that produce testosterone, the male hormone that controls sex drive. Even this procedure is contoversial. Some authorities say that some men may still feel a compulsion to sexually abuse children. This just underscores how futile it is to think counseling and time in incarceration will render a child molester "safe". Tragically, there are thousands of children who have been molested or murdered by those who have already been through the 'best' efforts the current system has to offer. To put it bluntly, they need to be put out of their misery. A society that has no effective way to protect its children and control these predators is a disgrace.

NEED ADVICE ON FAKING A REINSTATEMENT
by Mary ina friend of mine who is df'd is seriously considering trying to get reinstated in order to have his family back in his life.
this is not an easy decision because he's fully aware that this isn't "the truth", but the pain of being excluded from normal family relations is really tearing him.
he has two choices: either move away from his family and try and start a new life, or bite the bullet, try and get reinstated and then do the fade.

" Mary, Your friend wants to have a normal relationship with his family if he has to fake a reinstatement so be it. It doesn't mean he has to kiss anyone's a **. "
LOL, Yes it does mean exactly that!! Not literaly of course, but in every sense of that expression .

I personally would not do this by any means but then I am not this person and they have the free right to decide what is best for themselves.
As usual, I am in lockstep with Oldflame. The idea of getting reinstated by 'fooling' the elders is something I couldn't do, no matter what the incentive.
When I say I couldn't do it, I'm NOT speaking hypothetically. I had been out a couple of years when my beloved Grandpa turned 90 and was not in good health. Grandma was a sweetheart too. He was still sharp as a tack, and he had no problem visiting with me. But my Aunt & Uncle they lived with were like keepers of the flame about letting a DF'd grandson have access to them.
Sooo, in an emotional moment I made a rash decision to try to do what we're discussing here. I started with a elders meeting. Since I had been DF'd for apostasy they made me jump through hoops for an hour, lying my ass off about my coming to my senses about Jahs org. They never seemed to quite believe me and at the end they told me we could talk again after I had been a regular meeting attender for, oh, lets say, about a year! I thanked them and left. Biggest mistake I ever made in my life. Took me years to get over the fact that I had actually smooched their asses for an hour.

I shouldn't give the impression that this strategy is based on any "rules" per se. I just think if you appear to be trying to get back in and combine that with the fairly vague rules about family association you & your family could probably stay out of their crosshairs indefinately. If I understand the situation the DF'd person and his family are looking at a faux sincere reinstatement. I just think they can have their cake and etc....no reinstatement BS but still have family association. If you have real aggressive elders it may not work.

Was you ever an attendent or had an attendent in the family?
by jayhawk1 ini got to thinking about the conventions and such today.
here is a guy... always a guy who is in charge of a section of seating.
his job is to get up every so often and count people.

A few times at circuit assemblies. When I was old enough I started volunteering for foodservice, expediting, etc. Anything for a legitimate excuse not to be a 'middle man' trapped in a slick seated metal folding chair in the middle of an isle in the middle of a fairgrounds building in the middle of summer in the middle of California. With a necktie. Fairgrounds always have an abundance of flies too.
I think being an attendent had a lot of appeal for the above reasons.

They are shit, and they don't deserve to associate with someone who would even consider jumping through their hoops.
W.
Well, maybe, but I would give them the benefit of the doubt at this point. There is a solution I haven't heard here yet.
Rather than write to the elders ones intentions to be reinstated, which puts then on notice to start "taking attendance" on you, why not simply start attending a meeting semi regularly? Why? Because this gives the family the leeway they have in associating with a family member. If they really wanted to they could push the envelope a long way without being spoken to by elders. My mother and father were finally approached after basically ignoring my DF'ing. They basically said that as their son they had good reason to be associating with me and my family and that our association wasn't breaking the "spiritual good time" rule. Hope he's quit smoking for all reasons.
If the family doesn't want to exploit this big loophole out of intimidation by the elders, then maybe they are 'shit'. Chicken shit.
