  A question for my atheist friends.

  i can certainly understand why many turn atheist but what would you tell your 5 year old daughter who was conscience but dying on a hospital bed looking into your eyes?

  would you be inclined to give her some hope of a better place even though you didnt believe it yourself?

  Beating your kids

  i've been lurking here a long time.

  one of the topics that i rarely see disscussed is how many of you parents beat their kids because the religion told them to?

  if so did you really beat your kids (after reading from the bible) or did you ignore the rule?

  I remember beating my oldest daughter. That was 28 years ago, felt bad then and feel worse today. I never beat any of the other children after that. Beating is not the answer.

  Discussion with my parents about WTS

  i was raised a jehovah's witness by my parents who became jw's in the late '70s from field service.

  i'm still a jw but doing a lot of researching on the history of the wts.

  Do you still see Doom and Gloom all around you like JW's do?

  we all know that the jw's think that the end is so close.. in a way, i'm still programmed that way.

  i like reading news from all around the world, and you can find bad news all around the world.

  example: bird flu, iran nuclear problem, terrorism, and so on.... i'm just wondering if other x witnesses here still are doom and gloom people, thinking that we are on the edge of some world catastrophy?

  i heard that word used to describe being raised a jehovah's witness recently.

  it made me think and put things in i think there proper perspective.

  anyone who was born/raised a witness or even those who came later who were lured by their words are truly victims.

  I definitely feel I was a victim for 40 yrs. I was raised a witness and knew nothing else. In 1975 I began thinking for myself and got df'd in 1980. I sure wish this web sight was around then. Thanks slugga for the tip on editing a post, it works.
