Witness accepts transfusion to save life.
by bigmouth inmy wife, who is studying midwifery, has just finished watching an episode of maternity ward wherein a dub by the name of yvette thompson was having a caesarean due to fibroids among other things.
she told the doctor she wouldn't have a transfusion because of being a jw.
her 'fiance' said he disagreed with her stand but he would intervene if need be.

At least now she has the rest of her life regardless of what she feels.

September km- They're coming for you
by sspo in.
in sept. km under announcements, loving provision from jehovah, elders are being reminded to make the yearly visit to all those that have been df or da.. make sure you have some good coffee or a six pack for them.. treat them kindly and with respect, the gb is very much interested in all those that they kicked out.

I was df'd 26 years ago and have never been contacted. I hope they do not have a change of heart and try to do 26 visits in a row. Yuck.

What ended your first relationship?
by Dune ini'm in a relationship now and its my first serious one.
she keeps telling me that she's scared because she believes i'll eventually get bored with her and start wondering how it feels like with other women.
so she wants me to hook up with other girls when she goes out of the country for the fall semester.. personally i dont want to, but this is making me wonder, in the average person's first ,serious relationship, whats the cause of the breakup?

Hi Lisa
I know the feeling it's been over a quarter of a century since I was df'd and not once has anybody tried to encourage me back. The elders that df'd me are still around and family are still in so it's not a case of forgetting but not wanting to do a shepherding call. I was not df'd for apostasy so why would they not want to shepherd me back. (not that I would ever return). They just do not care.

What Great Resources Apostates Have - Created Bottom Up, Not Top Down!!
by Seeker4 ina couple of things got me thinking today.
i was reading jgnat's thread on responses to elders, and it reminded me of the reasoning book in some ways.
then i got to thinking about having access online to all of the elder's letters for decades, and websites with wts literature, copies of the un letter on the wts being a ngo and so much more.

Will there be a time when NO ONE will be able to become a JW anymore?
by JH in.
the witnesses always said that at some point in time, it will be too late to join, the doors will be closed.. do you believe that will happen, or is it just to scare the witnesses?
and what would trigger the watchtower to decide, it's too late?

If they shut the door there will be no more need to sell magazines and books then where will their money come from.

I do like funerals, I find them spiritual. ( I do not like jw funerals) recently my 99 year old aunt died and the funeral was conducted by the Salvation Army and I really enjoyed the comforting message they delivered.
