WT Storm Troopers Good news Bad News
by caspian inbev vigo and peter ellis of the uk stormtroopers ,sorry service department have to make the report concerning the inactive publishers campaign to brooklyn in the next two weeks, infact all boe's have to send the report to the co by this saturday, and his report has to get to bethel by next wednesday.
the word coming through from the travelling overseers so far is that the report will be a bit of a mixed bag.
bad news, even though the local boe and the co's will no doubt jazz it up a bit, it seems that the uptake for ones being reactivated will be very low, probably those who still attend meetings but don't report will be persuaded to do the "odd hour" but the long term cynics are not interested.

Good news for the Stormtroopers
It seems that a February 2003 has been a record month for disfellowshipping and disassociations up by over 50% on Feb 2002. Is it a direct consequence of this new campaign , weeding out any dissenting ones who could have a leavenlike influence on the Cong???
Well I haven't been able to find out what was the most common type of "sin" used on s77a forms, normally Sexual cases outnumber apostasy cases ten to one, however I am willing to bet that during December the reverse was the case.
I am sure that even now the Service Dept are trying to think of flowery expressions to wrap the report up in.

Interesting proposal. Uzzah
However I wouldn't think of using the Branch Office Procedure Manual as shown online, it is about 50 years out of date.
If you would like some private help, send me a personal message of specifics and I will see what documents, I can get for you.

The Society prefers to pay out!!!!
by caspian ini was down at the london branch recently, talking to the the bros on the legal desk, when i came across an interesting snippet.. at uk district conventions, about half are indoor, and the rest are held in cold draughty football stadiums.. it seems that over the past 2 years, the amount of attendees of these conventions held in the outdoor stadiums, who are now sueing the society for injuries caused by trips and falls down steep stadium stairs has risen from an average of 1 or 2 per year to over 30 cases.. the availability of these new style no win no fee lawyers are proving to much of an attraction to those out for a quick buck.. the societies position, i thought was interesting, as the average payout is between 3k and 7k, they are quite happy to settle out of court, as it is cheaper than going to court.. i then got to thinking.
imagine if every apostate went to a convention, and took a little fall, trapped a finger, grazed a knee and so-on...... could turn conventions in to a very expensive hobby for the society... by the way simon, the forum looks great... .

As part of the lease of these types of venues the WTS will need to have public liability insurance cover. So when someone claims for injury their insurer, not the WTS pays out.
I asked the same point to the legal brother, and he explained that because the insurance excess is so high per claim, about £2000, and they don't want the premiums to rise significantly, they will for up to claims of £10K pay out of their own pocket. What they view the insurance for is for a really big damaging claim.
Would a devout JW sue God's organization?
The angle that the legal desk take is that no genuine JW would dare make a claim, and that seems to be the case.
Almost all of the claiments are studies, or ones regarded as being on the fringe of the truth who see the society as a cash cow.

The Legal desk explained that Most stadia companies make the WTBS indemnify them these type of claims in the rental contract.

Got my judicial notes & file destroyed
by roybatty indoes it bug you that there are notes about you stuck somewhere in a kingdom hall file cabinet?
i cant say that its kept me up at night, but it does bother me that there are notes from my judicial hearing (and a file) that i cant access but just about anyone with a little bit of nerve can.
anyway, i decided to call the po from the last congregation i was in and request that these notes be destroyed.

In the UK
All Judicial notes on everybody except child abusers should have been destroyed at least 4 years ago as per Society Instructions ,leaving just the Specialised Sheperding List to fit in with the new Data Protection Act 1998.
I don't know whether this new policy applies to the rest of the world yet.
There has been numerous posts on this, including a useful one by JEMIMAH.

Qestion fore caspian
by happy man inyou tell this in onother topic.. it seems that the latest directive from his at the branch office is the following.
hlc members are not to direct jw parents to refuse blood for their children any more.
in the past uk doctors could easily get a court order to force jw children to have a blood transfusion.
-
caspian
It is a subtle change,
over the years the society were willing to go to court to stop a doctor giving blood to a child, they never won even one case. The child always recieved blood, however because of these stalling tactics by the time the child recieved blood it was to late
Now the society almost in very case explain that while they would like the doctors to seek every alternitive treatment, they must do as they see fit, and the society will not stand in there way.
Thus giving the child a better chance
As regards Sweden, I am not sure of the policy over there.
