i knew this would come up but what has me questioning myself is where some of my resistance is coming from.. my wife and i have a baby on the way in nov. (a little girl) anyway my mom immediately started applying pressure to me to go back to meeting and of course to attend the convention.
that is not the surprise.

Thanks for the reassurance.
I really need it because I guess I still have a little work to do with the wife. She informed me that while she knows its all BS she will always go to meetings from time to time. Which lead me to restate my little girl is NOT going ever as long as it is up to me. She says she agrees but man I didn't think she was ever going back I guess I jsut need to give her some time to adjust but I am not going and that is final. Now I just have to decide how to spend my Sat.

I have always subscribed to the live and let live motto. I don't even talk to my mom about the religion. But yes I will love my little girl no matter what even if , heaven forbid, she chose the witnesses. Of course she will have the freedom to chose her path. Neither my mother or myself had that choice from birth. But I am breaking the chain...
As far as my wife, she knows I am not pleased with her choice to go but likewise I am not her boss either I love her even if I disagree with her choice.

for our foreign friends, we conduct a full head count of residents every 10 years to facilitate the division of congressional seats.
the budget has allocated some $11 billion for this task, to include sending counters door-to-door asking personal questions about people's habits in addition to counting the number of people.

Well the MIL and wife are both familiar with the witnesses (the wife was a practicing witness up until about 6 months ago). They really like my mom and the MIL has issues becuase her parents never really accepted her because she refused to be a wittness and so she feel that it wouldn't hurt to fool my mom into believing I am just weak and not completely gone. But as you guys have pointed out, and rightly so I might add, it is a dead end road that I don't want to go down. Its nice to know other feel the same way I do.
