No, I don't follow the governing body anymore than I follow the local elders. They merely oversee the worldwide congregation just as the overseers in the local congregations oversee that. Jehovah's Witnesses follow Jesus, that is why we are not stumbled by what men do or by what is printed. We look to the reality and not focus on what the Watchtower has printed.

Assistance needed on issue of birthdays
by Peacekeeper ini am currently reviewing various doctrines of the wt.. would it be possible for this thread to focus completely on the issue of birthdays and avoid other subjects & also any digs at the wt over their current policy.. personally, i believe that birthdays are acceptable but i need concrete reasons / facts to counteract the arguments provided by the wt for their refusal to celebrate birthdays.. thanks .

And as to birthday celebrations, Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate them because Jesus did not direct and celebrate his, so if his birthday was not important enough to be commemorated then why would ours be? And why waste the time and money on that stuff?

What does the governing body or the service dept. have to do with your lack of faith? Your lack of faith is from you and only you. The governing body only oversee the worldwide congregation, not the individual congregations or publishers.

Why die over the Blood issue?

when faced with a life-threatening choice of blood or no blood, why don't they take the blood transfusion, then face the music and get disfellowshipped, act repentful and get reinstated in 6 months or 1 year?.
if you commit fornication or adultery, the punishment is still the same.
