I really think it is an exercise in making the jdubs enjoy their time in ''service'', rather than gaining lots more converts. They are desperate to hang on to those already in the org. Certainly can see why pioneering is more popular now when all they have to do is sit on a bench in the sunshine.

HA the good life --Cart witnessing
by wannaexit inon my way home from work today, i saw the modern day pioneers having a grand old time, relaxing in the sun.
two sprawled on one bench and the other two talking up a storm, with their iced cappuccino, just enjoying the day.
the two carts were a number of feet away.

Yeh I keep a track of the figures for Europe each year as I live in the UK. Here they grew by just 26 last year. That is just 0.02%. Its nearly 1 million hours spent for each additional publisher. lol

Far as I know it was the first time that they lost more members in the whole of Europe than they gained.

August 2017 Watchtower - Screwing with J.W.'s minds again
by The Searcher inin the latest issue of double-speak, i'd like to highlight these two statements:.
page 3, par.
2 - "...how encouraging it is to know that jehovah’s faithful servants in the past felt free to express the same question that may loom in our minds, and they were not condemned for asking it!

Its a great way to get your time in if older or disabled. You just sit on a chair or bench and enjoy chatting to partner for a couple of hours. (if your lucky in the sunshine)

If an elder decides he wants to report child molestation to police.
by poopie incan he be sued for violating clergy pertinent privilege by the person that confesses to him?.
-
alanv
Really cant see how there can be any talk about clergy confidentiality with JWs. The first thing elders an elder does when he is told about a serious sin is discuss it with other elders. Then they phone head office and speak to another person about the matter. This is nothing like a confession between the sinner and an elder.

Jehovah's protecting his people - Korea
by no-zombie inwith the chances of war breaking out on the korean peninsula rapidly rising, i wonder if jehovah will save his people in seoul if kim jong-un decides to nukes it?
or will their deaths just be written off by the governing body's writing department as another case of "time and unforeseen occurrence"?.
while you might think that i'm being flippant or trivial here, i'm being quite serious.

Abandoned literature carts, maybe the end of them?
by sp74bb inan innocent picture of a city in my country, spain.
the pic says everything.
many jw are really disgusted about everything, even their new preaching cart.
-
alanv
They really are a joke. I often go by them in my town, and have not seen one person show the slightest bit of interest. In UK there is an average of 3 carts per congregation. There was a total figure somewhere that Watchtower published for the Uk. Most times the witnesses just sit or stand around chatting together. Wish I had had them when I regular pioneered 40 years ago lol

About the JW Russian action
by Gorbatchov inwhat i don't get about the russian petition action:.
watchtower launched at march, 21 the petition action.. in the instructions they write it can take 14 days for postal arrival in russia.. on april, 5 they expect legal clarification from the supreme court.. so, conclusion: the letters will arrive just around the day of clarification.. conclusion: this action is planned for media impact only.
if it was to make judges think, (what they don't do on a petition cry), .

JWs love any persecution that happens within their organisation. To them it is proof that they are the only true religion, as Jesus said they would be persecuted. So its obvious why the governing body make a big deal of this type of thing. Plus of course they want their organisation to continue to grow in countries like Russia as there are relatively few witnesses there at the moment compared to the huge population.
