Need some help guys on blood
by alanv inrecently on the topix website we have talking about blood transfusions.. it has been asserted by one ex witness that jws are now allowed to store their blood providing it is for a limited time.
for example the blood could be taken from the patient sent to the lab to have it cleaned or whatever, and then returned to the patient.
the november 2006 kingdom ministry was cited to back this up as well as a watchtower from 2000. my question is, are jws now allowed to store their blood for a current limited time?.

2011 service report more details from jw archive
by alanv ini know that many will have seen the site jw-archive.org before, but i have only just discovered it.
someone has taken the trouble to give more details about the 2011 service report.. for instance it shows the actual increase or decrease in publishers not just the rounded up or down figures.
it also shows percentage increases for certain areas like europe or africa.. apologies if this has already been shown, but i found it very informative and interesting.. i can't get a link to it to work, but to get there, copy and paste the web address below, then select ' updated full report via pdf'.

New simplified Watchtower
by alanv inbeginning with the july 15th 2011 edition of the watchtower, the society are producing a simplified version of the study copy.. this is apparantly for the many people whose first language is not english, and yet they live in a predominantly englsih speaking county.. the normal study edition will still be produced but it looks like the cong.
will be able to ask for a supply of the simplified version each month.. this simplified version can be downloaded from the watchtower site.. http://www.jw.org/index.html.

Interesting you tube video
by alanv inwatching this video left me wandering a bit iif a person is wrongly disfellowshipped for whatever reason and they appeal against it and are then reinstated, would the elders actually announce in the hall that so and so has been reinstated.
if that was so it would be pretty obvious to most people that the disfellowshipping decision was wrong, ie the elders made a mistake.
has anyone here ever had that happen at their kingdom hall in the past.
