You're right wannaexit. So easy now for them. They can even do their preparations for the meetings on their phones or their tablets, which up to now they would have had to do at home. It doesnt surprise me in the slightest that the pioneer figure is up. Its even better in the summer. Near where I live they get to sit on a bench in the warm sunshine chatting to their mate, while people simply walk by them and their carts.. It doesnt get much better than that.

Fantastic how ex JWs can get the same information as the rank and file witnesses on the very same day. They are bragging about some of the figures in that letter so I dont think they care if it is kept quiet or not.

I actually meant the memorial figure was not as high an increase as the year before.

slimboy, pioneering is so much easier these days. The carts make it so easy to count time. Also in the 1970s regular pioneers needed 100 hours a month. These days I believe it is just 70.

Looks to me that we wont be seeing the complete report of each country that we have had in the past.

Peak publishers show a 1.4% increase which is down slightly from last year. Memorial attendance is down at 0.5%. The hours these days are just stupid figures. Many of those hours are from witnesses sitting somewhere near their carts playing with their phones lol
Baptisms show a big increase of 7%. Maybe its mainly witness kids, after the big push this year for younger ones to get dipped. Regular pioneers are also up 7% The important figure is the average publishers, which we haven't seen yet.

I would have thought that the org would look at what is currently happening in the Uk when they decide what changes they should make in the future. They may have had reasonable increase in the past but certainly in the last few years it is next to nothing. Ireland is better, but they have very small numbers compared to UK.

"We never solicit donations" - really?
by doubtfull1799 ininspired by this weeks clam article which again "reminds" the brothers pdf their obligation/privilege to donate "voluntarily" i have complied a list of articles or videos in the last 5 years where donations are indeed solicited or encouraged.
the society may argue that these are not actual solicitations because no plate was passed around.
but a donation box is just a more discrete and subtle version of the plate.

I used to pay for literature, but never put any money into the contribution box. I felt my time was more than enough.

Is the name Jehovah`s Witnesses a misnomer ?
by smiddy3 ini ask this because from what i read on this board lately is that they jw`s seem to be very reluctant to engage in conversation with anybody nowadays and are only interested in placing literature at carts.. and if anyone brings up questions in their d2d work that challenge them ( like the arc ) they will promptly excuse themselves and move on.
also didn`t jesus say "this good news of the kingdom would be preached in all the inhabited earth " for a witness ?.
when was the last time you heard a jw speak about "the good news of the kingdom" ?

Pomo, last year in UK the publisher increase was just 26. Certainly hours spent goes up every year and as counting time is so easy now (just standing by a cart and watching people walk by) its understandable how that figure can go up. Also even if bible studies go up, it doesnt seem to equate into more people becoming witnesses. I'm looking forward to seeing the 2017 worldwide report, to see what is happening in UK now.
