JWs regularly have get togethers where they enjoy others company just like any non JWs. There are restrictions though. So no drugs, no smoking and drinking alcohol in moderation. Also dressing modestly and non sexual dancing are required.
So for anyone wanting any of those things you could say they are party poopers. Personally I was always quite happy with those conditions, and any non JW parties I go to now, I would prefer those conditions.

Jehovah's Witnesses are told what to do by their governing body in USA. They dont normally do anything that the org does not approve of, because of consequencies.

Its easy to see why this letter has been sent. Over 20000 JWs have died from covid, and the vaccine has been shown to dramatically reduce symptoms if someone catches is.
this is not a political post regarding the vax jab, (let's not go there) but i personally know many who were disturbed by the gb pushing it in the update #7. .

Over JWs 20000 JWs have died because of covid. It should be no surprise that the governing body have encouraged witnesses to have the jabs

i've been out since i was 19 and i'm now 65. i have uber jw cousins that of course now shun me big time.
funny how when my uber jw started declining in health all of a sudden they "needed" me and i had to help with her care blah blah after being shunned for years.. my mom passed away a couple of years ago and i sent out the death/memorial announcements to her friends far and near.
I remember at my JWs son wedding, I shared a car with the JW photographer. We chatted and everything was fine. Then when we shared the same car later he was really standoffish and didnt want to talk. He had been told that I was an ex witness and that I now speak against the org lol

I lost my eldest son to the cult after he had attended a lot of family funerals. He was extremely vulnerable and got sucked into it, He completely ignored my advice and experience of being in the religion for 25 years.
in the latest gb update, losch basically scolds any jws who are wary of masks and the new experimental vaccines, and says that they're being influenced by conspiracy theories and essentially taking a political side.
yet every week i hear individual jws, encouraged by the organization, wishing that masks and vaccines were required by the government and that people would just stay home.
so taking that extreme stance isn't political, because it falls in line with what the org wants, but the opposite is political.. now the stage is more than set for anyone who doesn't fall in line with these things to be viewed as "weak" or getting political, and it shows to be a lie their claim that these things are "personal decisions".. they supposedly are respecting the decisions of the "superior authorities" .
The governing body give no thanks to the superior authorities if a particular government has dealt well with the pandemic. They want the sheep to follow what they say about the pandemic. Interestingly my JW elder son and his wife have decided to stay in isolation until next March. They dont even consider that they couldnt do that if front line people had decided to do the same.
