Randy I got an Email from Freeminds this morning with a link to the worldwide report for 2009 from the new yearbook.
Could you post it on this board for everybody as I am unable to do it myself
Thanks
just got this in, don't know if it was mentioned here yet, but this illustrates how the watchtower views/responds to emergencies.
note the dig on university and "higher education" (especially sad for a poor country like haiti with poorly educated masses).. randy.
it was a terrifying moment for all!

it was two "sisters".
one wasn't able to make it to my door as she had some health issues.
the other one was a bit older and must have just been baptized.
That was a good point about the Baptists doing it so it's OK for JWs to do it. I would love to have conversations like that but because I have only faded it can't really happen or I would be disfellowshipped and never be able to talk to my witness son again (sigh)
i disagree on some doctrine with the organisation.
yet, i also know these are the kindest, most loving people on earth.
such people must be guided by the holy spirit.
Weeping. You seem to have been unlucky with your non witness friends. There are actually many, many people out there who are not Satan worshippers as you put it.
Remember too that any love you experience in the cong. is absolutely conditional on you accepting ALL the doctrines of the society. Once you tell them you believe something different you will be cut off from the vast majority of them. There are many 'nice' people in the org but there are also many in other religons and they at least allow you to think for yourself whereas the society are very against private research without using any of their publications.
does anyone know if the society/organization is financially taking care of the older ones?.
my husband and i left the org over 10 years ago, we are of the generation where our parents came to the jw's in the 70's, gave up everything they owned, had no college education, and stuck to the usual janitorial/construction jobs so they wouldn't miss any meetings.
this of coarse means they have no retirement money and see nothing wrong with that as the end of the system is soon upon us.
I think the society would say that everyone had a choice as to how much they would do in the service. So if they are suffering now as a result of getting it wrong years ago then it is really is their own fault. In many countries the state helps those older people who can't help so the society see no need to help.
If push comes to shove as they say, they would expect others in the cong. to help them out. There certainly would be no handouts from Brooklyn.
i think this article, along with the video that comes with it, shows that they are.. .
are jehovah's witnesses "extremists"?.
and just think, many of us actually believed in that rubbish and laughed at those jokes...... .
Did we really all used to believe that rubbish. I feel so ashamed of myself now for not only believing it myself but worse going from door to door trying to get others to join this cult. It makes me all the more determined to help others free themselves from this evil organisation.

two paragraphs were really bad:.
"we suspect not a few of our young brothers and sisters attending universities may have died when those buildings crashed to the grounds with everyone in them.
Mary, I too have just commented on Facebook and I would encourage all others reading this report to do the same. I can't believe some of the comments by other witnesses about how Jehovah looks after them. sick, sick, sick

Sick is definitely the right word for this report. How can anyone write of 100+ deaths and then start relating funny stories, or make a remark about how higher education won't do you much good. Can you imagine the relatives of those that have died reading this report.
They really think that they alone are so wonderful looking after a few JWs when everyone else is looking after hundreds of thousands. Words fail me.
hello,im not sure this is the right place to post, anyway ive never been a jw but i have a very good friend that is,lately her mother has been telling me to go to the meetings and i went only once because after that ive been to research alot about them and i didnt like what i saw at all.. anyway the thing is that i asked my friend is the following.
"can you disfellowship jw with no problem?
"she said "yes, you just need to inform them".. i already knew the answer should be no cause they are shunned and this couldnt possibly be,.
Hi ArchDemon welcome to the forum. I am presuming your friend is a witness as well as the mother.
JWs will disfellowship any baptised person who disagree with their faith and who show know repentance after being spoken to.
As far as doctrines go they are constantly changing them. As soon as something they say is proved wrong the leaders change it and all witnesses must conform to the new understanding or be disfellowshipped.
It is good you did some research about them. Many people are able to do that now especially with the power of the internet showing what they are really like.
If you want to keep her as a friend you will have to keep most of your thoughts to yourself, because witnesses do not like any critisism of their organisation.
Good luck
this is an email going round the jw's, contains several accounts.
here are some new reports that i received today about our brothers in haiti.
for those unfamiliar with the geography of the area, haiti shares the island with the dominican republic which is referred to as "dr" in the report.
Unbelievable. The indoctrination process continues even during a massive disaster. While their having a Watchtower study people are dying around them. Surely their time could be spent helping those in real trouble and go back to Watchtower studies after all has been done. Praying will do know good at all. The witnesses are not being protected from this calamity just as no one else is. All have to pull together and each one must do their utmost to help at this particular time.
we used to have a nutcase of a friend in the jw's who was always saying 'off the wall' things.
he was exasgerating interpretations, making idle threats that he would 'bump off' a jw if they do him wrong.
nobody took him seriously, because he said these wacko things all the time and never did them.
No I am sure they have no remorse or regrets. The gov. body are totally convinced in their own mind that God reveals things gradually. Most witnesses will just accept the 'new light'. And the thread title is spot on. This is what they do. As soon as something is proved wrong they change it for something else.
