darkspilver, thanks for clarification on the USA figures. Surely that is totally dishonest. They show peak figures for other lands, then because USA peak is so low they choose to publish the average figure.
I presume you are not in a position to publish other counties average publishers?

It seems very strange to me that Watchtower have not posted the average publishers for each country. Surely they know that the figure is more accurate than peak publishers which they have shown.
Also what is going on with USA?

My wife was a very staunch JW. She said to me around 1994 If armaggeddon hasn't come by the year 2000 she would seriously think about leaving the org.
Unfortunately she died in 1998, so I will never know if she really would have left. But certainly shows the mindset of witnesses.

Steve, I think the confusion comes from the fact that you have to click on the 2017 Service report, before you get to see 'Related articles' headings on the right. All it says there is 'Jehovah's Witnesses around the world. You then click on that and get the 2016 figures for every country.
My guess is that those figures will be updated soon with the 2017 figures. However by just giving those very few facts, it is very hard for the average witness to realize things are not going well in their country, or in fact in most countries.

I think the 'fast facts section on jwdot org,are still showing 2016 highlights. It may well be they just havent got round to updating those figures to include the 2017 service year yet. We will see

What would be good, is for someone in USA to phone the branch and ask about the report for the individual countries. Would probably need a bit of deception to get it, but would be worth it to see what they say.

My guess is that they will update those figures to the 2017 figures. But it gives very little away about what is happening to the org in any particular country. These are the figures for Britain for instance.

I think you can trust the figures they have published. After all most are very bad. Like the 2 billion hours spent preaching. How anyone can say they are preaching when they sit playing with their phones next to a cart certainly beats me. The point about the report, is it is a snapshot of what has changed since last year. Most figures are worse, and show how the religion is slowly dying. It is no coincidence they have not shown the individual countries figures. Those figures are so bad especially in the developed world that witnesses would be discouraged rather than encouraged if they saw them.

If as we suspect they are not going to give the report from the individual countries, we really need to ask individual JWs why they think that is. For years the rank and file have looked forward to seeing how their own country is doing, and now they have no idea. Even if the fast facts section is updated with the 2017 figures, they present the figures in a way that hides the important stats.
