People who read the WT are MEAN!

i am having kind of a bad day.

i know that i really should not complain... i know that i have things so much better than most people on this planet, and everyday that i wake up with my health and a roof over my head and something to eat, i am having a great day compared to most.

it makes me think... why do i even bother throwing them out?

Whenever you try to thwart Satan's organization, he is going to throw people in your way to try to dissuade you. This religion is a lie and Satan is the father of lies. And he doesn't like it when someone tries to steal souls back from him. So, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!

If anyone admonishes you for throwing them out again, just tell them you are going to send them to a friend, and you can send them to ME! I love picking those things to pieces. It helps me to line up my questions and I am ready to ask, ask, ask, when they hand me one. Helps to make them think and gives me practice for the next one.

Please, don't get discouraged. If you learn effective methods of witnessing, you could help your boyfriend's family to be free one day. Just don't get impatient and don't try to come off like you are teaching them. That will send them in the worng direction. God bless you! You care, and that is going to mean a lot.

If you are interested in finding out more about the JW religion, why it is different from Christianity, and how to approach JWs and ask them questions to make them think, there are many books that can help you.

There is a book called Reasoning From The Scriptures With The Jehovah's Witness by Ron Rhodes that is a terrific beginner. Approaching Jehovah's Witnesses In Love by Wilbur Lingle is a great book to, because it helps you learn how to relate better to the JW. Both of these books are available in the bookstore at Free Minds.

I believe it is a "means justifies the end" type of deal. A fancy way of saying it is okay to lie to people. It is for their own good. If we tell them the truth, they might get some red flags, and we wouldn't want that. Then they might not be willing to follow our way of thinking. They don't deserve the truth anyway, because they are not one of "us". That is how Theocratic War Strategy seemed to be to me.

QUESTION ABOUT WATCHTOWER HELP IN TSUNAMI

did they help with anything anyway in the sumatra tsunami ?

most of the people are not jehovahs witnesses.

did they print anything in the mags about the disaster?

A JW couple was having a "study" with us around the time of the Tsunami. I was talking about some of the religious organizations that were going there and helping to rebuild homes, feed people, look for bodies, etc.... And I asked, "What are the Witnesses doing to show those people the love and mercy of Christ?" I got a very vague and pathetic answer. Mrs. JW said, "Oh! Well, we have people there rebuilding the Kingdom Halls and the homes of the brothers, etc...." Then my husband said, "That is nice, but what about the people who are not JWs? What is your religious organization doing for THEM? They are the ones who need to see Jesus in us at this time, aren't they? Isn't it a good time to witness to the broken, by helping them?" No answer! They just kind of looked down at the publications they were holding and tried to change the subject. Then Mrs. JW had a big thought! "Well, when they had that big flood a few years ago in the US, the JWs were handing out bottles of water!" I said, "Oh! That's great! So, they bought and supplied water for people who needed it?" She kind of got red faced. "No, the JWs handed out. Didn't really supply it. It was donated by Miller Brewing Co." We just let it go after that. It was kind of obvious where the WTS priority is.

What is most important ? to approach a JW with? Any current changes in WT?

i have recently been having a dialogue with my jw friend on the "blood" doctrine.

i've heard about others who have used the wt involvement with the un (which i am not very familiar with).

others say to use the failed prophecies.

I have recently been having a dialogue with my JW friend on the "blood" doctrine. I've heard about others who have used the WT involvement with the UN (which I am not very familiar with). Others say to use the failed prophecies. I just wondered, as former JWs, what you think would be the best subjects and how to bring them up? What made you start to think that this wasn't the truth after all? And do you think that the majority of JWs would really like to get out from under the legalism?

My friend has been studying for 9 yrs., and is not baptised. Yet. Is it typical to study that long and still not be baptised? She definitely doesn't know much about the past of the WTS. She said that one of her study ladies has been in for 30 years and said there haven't been any changes that she knows of since she has been "in the truth". (This came about when I brought up that they used to not allow organ transplants, but that changed. So, what if they change the blood doctrine, a month after her son dies from the need of a blood transfusion? Is that going to be okay? Why did they change their stance on organs? Didn't they research the Bible thoroughly the first time? Did the Bible change? How did this happen?)

Do you know of any substancial documented changes that I can point to that have happened in the last 20 years or so? Maybe that would jog this lady's memory a bit!

Only a little flock of 144,000 go to heaven and rule with Christ???????????

i am not here to insult anybody by all means but if only 144,000 people make it into heaven then what about the 2.2 billion children in the world ?

now don't get me wrong i belive in god to the fullest.

You should consider getting the book: Reasoning From The Scriptures With The Jehovah's Witness by Ron Rhodes. That would answer a lot of your questions about the JW religion. I'm a Christian with some friends in the JWs. Do you have a friend or relative that is a JW? I have found it difficult to find other Christians who know how to witness effectively to JWs. Most don't even want to talk to them. And they don't want me to either. Too bad! My best friend is not going down without a fight!

What would happen if I asked Brooklyn for this?

i want a copy of the "x-mas" issue of the golden age; the issue that describes that dubs can practice xmas, but i need the actual paper maybe with a note on dub stationary that it is an actual copy.. it's easy to find the text on-line, but i have yet to find a hard copy in a kh library.. what will brooklyn do if i ask for one?

i'm serious because i made this claim and now i can't prove it.

I check out the Watchtower and JW stuff on Ebay every now and then. There was a guy selling copies of an actual WT Christmas card! I think it was "Buy It Now" at around $5. The Harp Of God by Rutherford is for sale there all the time for sale and it has a poem Rutherford wrote about Jesus on the CROSS and a drawing of Jesus hanging on a cross--right there in the book! *I guess that means he can't be in that "heavenly" number of 144,000--pagan jerk!! Shame on him! :)

Witness and Food Stamp Scam

hi everyone, been reading here for a long time and have to say how much i enjoy all of your stories, insight and opinions.

this is my first time posting but i remembered something today that i thought was worth sharing.

when i was a teenager and going to the hall (i successfully faded about seventeen years ago), there was a family who would come to the hall in all their sunday finery (better clothes than we can afford), drove up in their nice luxury vehicle etc.

Okay, let me get this straight........: Smurfs are demonized, wind chimes are beckoning demons to come to your door, Flags are evil, voting is evil, joining the military is terrible, don't have any part of the goverments of the world, because Jehovah will have a tizzy fit and annihilate you, BUT.....go ahead and get food stamps, disability, social security, etc......

So, accepting money from Satan is okay, right?!!!

What Things Did You Think Were "Demonized"?

everything, when i was growing up was connected to "demonism".

handwriting analysis was borderline.

wind chimes would bring the demons right to your porch!

I was told that if you had a flag outside of your house, it would keep the JWs from kocking and leaving stuff at your door. But, amazingly, after 9-11 and all the flags EVERWHERE, I heard they changed their mind and told their people that it was okay to go to those doors after all. I guess people who don't want woke up Sat. morning and handed a WT magazine had better get some wind chimes or a Smurf wreath, eh?! The flag remedy isn't working any more. Ha!
