  would you all consider this a serious threat????

  let me start by saying that i have posted here before about my wacko sister -in-law.

  this time it is bad.

  we recieved a phone call from my husbands father on friday night asking about how we were and what we were up to ,no biggie just odd since its only maybe the second time in over a year that he has called.

  A "stumbling" question for a JW

  i posted my first topic a few months ago, asking people for advice because my boyfriend is a jw, and will not understand why i will not convert.. we are currently not together, but friends.

  he still insists on me staring another bible study.

  i have asked him questions about 1914, and the 144,000, but he keeps avoiding them.. anyways, he continues to say only his faith has "the truth".. so finally, i asked him, "if you have the truth, why does the organization continue to update their beliefs (for example, the new revelation book coming out has something like over 50 'updated' things in it), yet claim each time, their new beliefs are definite, and the truth/light?".

  My husband and I agreed to a "Bible Study" at the door. Two weeks later, here come our JW couple to teach us all about the Bible. So what do they do? They provide us with all kinds of pamphlets, colorful picture books, etc...and so on. So I asked the obvious question:

  "So which book of the Bible do you want to start with? Personally, I would like to read through Romans and Galatians! But you can pick."

  (Strange look and silence.) "We would like to start with this." As Mr. JW slips a fresh copy of "What Does God Require?" under my nose. I open it and see a bunch of questions at the top of the page.

  "Hmmm." I say. "I thought we were going to study the BIBLE."

  "This is an introduction, so you can better understand.", he explains.

  "OH.", I say. "But isn't the Bible sufficient to teach us all we need to know?"

  Silence. It's getting awkward. I want him to come back, because I want to see responses to further questions.

  "Okay, I'll tell you what...," I say. "I'll read the questions at the top of the page, then I'll search the Scriptures for the answers FIRST. THEN, I'll see what your pamphlet has to say. Okay? because you would agree that we should always search the Scriptures, right? I mean, there are a lot of false religions out there, so I want to make sure everything lines up with the Bible."

  He agreed and they both were just so excited about the whole deal! Right up until they could see that the Scriptures didn't support their pretty little picture book afterall. Oh, well. I'd say we all learned something from the whole experience, even if there wasn't any admittance to it! ;0)

  Looking for good info. to send to JW about child molestation within WTS.

  i think this might be a very good point to make with my friend who is involved with the wts.

  not yet baptised, but not far from it.

  do any of you know of a good article that could perhaps be sent anonymously and would open the eyes of someone who is very sensitive to the child molestation topic.

  Do any of you know of a good article that could perhaps be sent anonymously and would open the eyes of someone who is very sensitive to the child molestation topic. I would like something that would make her want to dig further and that would show how rampant the problem is within the JW belief system.

  I think I could find someone to mail the info. for me from another area. Trying to keep that "apostate" label off myself, you know!

  And if anyone would like me to send the info. from Indiana, I'm willing. Just PM me with the info. and addresses! (I have references within JWD who will vouge for me. I'm not a "bad guy".)

  Besides the hospital bills and the "surprise" ( negative ) from my bank....

  Cologne from my son, My husband searched and found a CD with my favorite Christmas song, AND My exceptional Secret Santa was very generous and did "oh, so well"!!!!!

  Rebirth got me a set of salt and pepper shakers, cappucino, and a book about horses! I swear, I could feel sunshine radiating out of that gift box! Thank you so much, Rebirth!

  And I would also like to thank Abandoned, AK-Jeff, Honesty, By The Beach, and my other JWD friends who have helped me A LOT with their encouragement and advice. I love you all!

  i can put up with a lot of things.

  but i avoid people who are "users".

  you know the type....always taking, never giving, always looking to take advantage of someone......and i don't like liars all that much either.

  Selfishness.

  If you have a bad case of the "me-me-me-me's", then the means always justifies the ends, and all the other truly bad character traits rear their ugly heads all too often. It all goes hand in hand, it seems.

  My son wakes up at 5:30am, no matter what. That is his own body's schedule, which is fine, because he spends time with us in the morning before he goes school and we go to work. He is exhausted by 8pm, and 8:30pm is late for him to go to bed as it is. Summer he gets to stay up until 9:00pm. We adults need some "quality" time together too. :) That schedule works out for us.

  Any later than 9pm and we have a cranky grouch on our hands the next day. No thanks!

  Seems like the days last forever and the nights not long enough. Kids are standing out in the pitch dark waiting on the school bus. Then they have to go to bed while it is still light out. Everyone complains about it. It is a change that is very hard for us to get used to in our area.

  Of course, Daniels originally wanted us to be on the same time as Illinois, but that was changed. If we had went in that direction, it would have been much better.

  He really shot himself in the foot with this lousy time change!

  It was not well received and it over shadows anything good he accomplishes, because it is such a pain in the butt for us regular Joe's.

  I especially love it when I am trying to get my son to go to bed at 8:30pm and it is still broad daylight for an extra hour and a half! His grades really suffered last spring.

  Daniels has done some great things and some bone-head things. I certainly agree.
