  Anyone else baptized in 1976..

  i was baptized at the "sacred secret" district convention in 1976. funny thing really i don't remember the 1975 issue as i was studing at that time and some how the subject never came up.

  My mother was baptized in 1974. And yes, it was because of the 1975 fevor.

  Both my husband and I were baptized in April 1974 at the first circuit assembly we ever attended, we "studied" in the truth book for 6 months before being baptized, we were told we better "get on board before it was to late" I was so afraid of my children being destroyed because I wasn't a JW, I had let them convince me we would all be destroyed in 1975 if we were not JW's

  I didn't come to my senses until 2000 when I DA'ed

  My JW roommate and I were watching a program on cults the other night

  they were talking about how when you are in a cult, you are not allowed to think outside their 'box'.

  i didn't say anything and she says "that sounds just like the jw's doesn't it?".

  i just smiled and said yes...i was thinking that very thought but wasn't going to say anything.

  When my daughter lived there the cong. treated her like an "outsider" because it was composed mostly of second and third generation locals. So much for "southern hospitality".

  Please believe me when I say the JW's in Alabama are nothing at all like the Normal Alabamians, I have had extended contact with both groups...the JW's are that way simply because they are JW's.

  Haleyville is in Winston County, right? That's up the road a ways from me.

  Yes it is, I still have an aunt and some cousins living there they are not jw's thank goodness

  I loved Haleyville when I was young, hanging out at the local Dairy Queen or going to the one movie theater in town was about the only thing to do for entertainment but you got to see everyone you knew.

  I love lots of Alabamians because they are my family, my mother and her parents were all born in Haleyville, I still have family there and I lived there when I was young.

  I went there to visit family when I was 18 met and married my husband there...in fact my first child was born in Birmingham.

  i was told it says....while inclining to view the pronunciation yah.weh as the more correct way, we have retained the form jehovah because of people's familiarity with it since the 14th century.

  moreover, it preserves, equally with other forms, the four letters of the tetragrammaton jhvh (nwt, 1950 ed., foreword, p. 25 [note: this admission was removed from the 1961, 1970, 1984 editions of the nwt]).. my husband wants to see a scan before he will believe this, can anyone help me please...i trashed all my old literature.. .

  I hope that is satisfactory. The stuff at the bottom of the page is a bit of "read-through" where the scanner is seeing some of the text on the opposite side of the page.

  Thanks Nathan...that makes it even more compelling he can't say either of them are fake...he knows they are legitimate scans.
