a quote from his press conference today.... "there is no question the economy has slowed down," bush said.
"i don't think we're headed into a recession, but there is no question we are in a slowdown.
""there is no question the economy has slowed down," bush said.
In reality there's little a president can do about the economy other than set the mood. The Federal Reserve and other factors are more important than what a president does (in terms of the economy).
Agreed Gopher, I just get sick of the BULL he puts forth while trying to make ends meet on my social security check and kicking myself for buying into the JW bull that there was no need to save for the future
no matter if god granted what you asked or not, what did you pray for ?
prayer was difficult. I went for long periods without praying and feeling guilty about it. I just couldn't pray. I tried to make myself do it, but couldn't. Much later I realized it was because I just plain didn't believe in god. But it took a long time for me to admit that to myself.
DITTO what Hortensia said!
easter is coming soon and i am so excited!
i have not celebrated easter in over 17 years.
what a relief to be able to enjoy the worship of jesus and to be so grateful and thankful for his sacrafice.
I will be celebrating Easter with and for my two great grandchildren, not as a religious holiday but a good old pagan egg dying and hiding/hunting easter egg type holiday....absolutely nothing to do with the bible what so ever.

I don't know where he lives but when I go grocery shopping and fill up my car with gas I know darn well we are in a recession!
for me - rarely would be the correct word.
i don't miss the indoctrination.
i don't miss the wasted time in service.
Not NO but Hell NO!
Wow Abandoned...that is great, Congratulations!
I know how hard it is to quit and stay quit...the last pack of cigarettes I bought cost me 50 cents
some women i have known speak of their desire to have the person they marry to also be their best friend.......other's relate that they already.
have a best friend in the form of a longtime girlfriend, and would rather have their husband be their "husband".
so.....which is ladies?
Yes I do,
I'm blessed in the fact that not only is my husband of 37 years my best friend he is the one person I know beyond a doubt that will always be there for me when the chips are down!
Don't get me wrong we don't have a perfect relationship (I don't believe anyone does) but I can't imagine my life without him, and I'm told he feels the same way
I also have a female best friend, I think I'm one lucky old gal.
all boe have just got a letter telling them to encourage all parents to be more on guard with their children.
suggestions such as not letting your young children go to the toilet on their own, not working with older men on their own and not leaving children in the car on rv's and calls un attended.
the letter basically instructed the elders to remind all family heads that its their responsibility to protect their children whilst at and away from the hall etc.
Finally Free said.....I was molested by a woman before I was 5.
I'm so sorry that happened to you, I know what it did to my sons life and mine

Ironic as women molest too. So can older kids.
You are so right!! I did not realize this fact until I learned that my son had been molested by two teenage female members of my immedient family when my son was only 5 years old...when he was in his thirties he was in therapy and finally told me what had been done to him and by whom. It ruined his life! Children should be watched and protected from everyone to the extent possible by their parents, and that includes family members and disgusting as it is even from some of their own parents and siblings!
