Hey... Ex-Witnesses. When I read all your DF stories, I do not notice one thing which seems strange. Why do you not counter-witness before you are DF and shunned. It looks excelent way to get real truth to "truth", while others does not shun you, but in Spirit you are allready not JW, you could counter-witness and plant seeds, coz you have the best reach of those inside.

Article on Origins of Xristianity I Wrote REALLY UPSET Local Christians
by Seeker4 ini had an assignment to write a bunch of holiday articles that would be shared by all the various papers owned by the guy who owns the paper i'm the editor of.
after i'd had enough with the usual holiday stuff, i decided to get a little adventerous and expanded one in the series to include, not just the origins of christmas foods, but also some ideas i've been reading and watching about the origins of the chrisitain religion itself.. this is a link to the article, which ran a few weeks ago: .

Hmmm... I would say lousy logic. If we conclude that there is not so much "party" food atall in the world whcih can be afforded by normal humans, then you will fidn that the same food is used in different cultures, times etc. To claim that because of this one is borrowed from other is a far stretching. But that's actually is not problem. Problem is that between lines author (and obviously pastor get hooked on that) inserts that Christianity claims some exclusivity to Christmas food or time of celebration. Well it is like saying that I am worshiping Indian gods because I eat potatoes and tomatoes. Next... about Christian origin as pagan origin, that is another example of lousy logic, in short it is saying that crocodile is cucumber because both are green. There are meny topics on interent whcih explicitly examines these claims and prooves that there is on case of two 1) Similarity and origin is only illusion when looked with halfblind eyes or selective sight 2) There is signs that the truth was revealed to pagans, and the truth was degenerated over centuries so it contains the core, but dressing is changed, and when the core is revealed in Christianity, you get impression as if Christianity borrowed something. Next about Paul. Why would Paul repeat things which are repeated 3-4 times in gospels? Pauls ministry was to gentiles and with them he dealt. And the core of Christs work - death and ressurection is not ommited in Pauls letters. So to claim that he is some false witness just because he does not repeat the same again and again, is special pledging and another example of losy logic. I am not upset about article, it just shows again how much unbelievers does not understand and how much they are ready to do just to justify their blunders instead of really studing the matters, which you need not several weeks but years as with any serious matter. Go and read Early Church Fathers, they were there... they know better what and how happenned, they do comparison with pagan religions all the time. If your predisposition is that Christ is Elvis Presly, you will allways find scholars who will help you with this. But I suggest instead of this, try to find out truth, for that you need wisdom and courage. But to trash Christianity in culture which makes millions on trashing Christianity, that's not big deal.

Has the Watchtower changed its mind or did I miss something?
by Gill inin all my years as a jw, my understanding had been of wtbts belief, was that the 144 000 were resurrected in a 'twinkling of an eye' and never actually experienced death.. did i understand wrongly or has the watchtower changed its mind......again?.

Astonishing Publisher Peak in Britain for August 2006
by slimboyfat inwell i just got the new kingdom ministry for december and it has the publisher peak for august: 129,482!.
that is quite an amazing total when you compare it to the trend of recent years:.
2006 - 129,482. i wish i could produce a graph, but you get the picture - there has been a dramatic increase in the publisher peak number this year compared with the recent downward trend after the 1995 "generation" change and subsequent stagnation.

The fall and rise shows the longitude of member memory. It is how long ones remember fallen prophecies and when they are forgot or new members introduced which are not aware of the previous lights, they start increase until next big WT failure. What will be next and when? I suppose if not earlier, then end of year 2014 will be big fall for them.

i guess coz of my country not being english speaking, there were only small sheet of it covered with these questions, what is false religion, bla bla bla.
what i noticed was funny thing, first they put down all the goverments and religions, and then ask question - which is true religion.

See one problem with beeing intelligent is, that you can cheat yourself! One who is very intelligent can make himself believe that things are like he wants them to be. It is similar to art... one idiot spits on paper and then calls the result "ART" and everybody else mumbles... yess... art... deep thougth, what a emotional grasp of current state of the worlds... mmm... yess... But child will cry - "King is naked" :)
