Revelation chapter 9
by NowImFree ini have been researching revelation 9 and have recently come to the realization that the jws are claiming in their own literature that they themselves are the locust horde coming out of the abyss spoken of in revelation 9 and they are also claiming that their king is abaddon the king of the abyss who they say is jesus.
in their old literature they used to say the abaddon is satan and now they have done a flip flop and say he is jesus!
this is just amazing to me that they would say this.

In the Kindom Interlinear Translation, can anyone tell me the Greek word used in the spots where The Watchtower has inserted Jehovah?

The Challange of Faith
by truth_be_told ini stumbled on this site dong some research, i post now only for those you have not sinned against jehovah's holy spirit, since only jehovah knows this, some value might be taken form this.
i currently serve as the service overseer in my congregation, i have been an elder for over 10 years.. the fundmental issue that challanges every jw faith at some point are the imperfections of the wtbs, & those that take the lead sometimes make huge errors.
as a third generation jw with a huge network of elders, i have heard many bad things about those that take the lead.. some of these have effected myself and my family, this is the test, no different than what job faced, but it is more on the emotional and mental level.

HAHAH...excellent analogy TruthBeTold. You've got a sense of humor too. I hope you stick around here. This board is much more interesting that way. But on a serious note, I think most people haven't left the org for selfish reasons. Most lose their most precious relationships. But sometimes truth, though liberating, is deeply hurtful and traumatic. No one seeks that selfishly

I think your Matthew reference is perfect. How much charity does the WTBTS actually do. How many charities, hospitals, volunteer organizations does the Watchtower run?
What about other Christian denominations: Catholic, Protestant, Presbyterian, etc..I think if anyone is carrying out charity in the way Christ asked, it's these.
TruthBeTold, I agree, Prayer and reading God's word is wonderful path to spirituality. However, I don't know how with 6 different Bibles you can reconcile the differences in the New World Translation. i.e. Worship of Jesus, Christ dying on the cross, Christ declaring himself the "I AM".
I find another Bible verse to be very important here as well, being that there is ONE Gospel. Galatians 1:8. What is the gospel that the apostles preached? Is it the same thing Jehovah's Witnesses are preaching as they go door to door? Are they really doing God's work as it was done in the early church? -

I agree with some of the previous posts.
Yes, God has always saved those who were faithful to him.
That Savior is Jesus Christ. There will not be another Ark, we will not need to put lambs blood above our doorways. We won't need to submit to any organization.
As the Philippian Jailer asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." Acts 16:30-31 -

The problem here is that you equate leaving the organization with leaving Jehovah. As it states in Scripture, Jehovah does not change. So when the organization changes it's view on one issue or another, which is truth? Jehovah doesn't change but the organization does quite frequently. We must decide what is the truth by using our own conscience as both Peter & Paul teach us. So at what point do you say, this organization is no longer or never was speaking for Jehovah. And if they don't speak for Jehovah, then they are not the sole channel of communication between God and man.
I decided this once the organization proved themselves to be false prophets. You mention David and Peter being fallible. This is true. HOWEVER, by no means were they ever fallible when speak in the name of Jehovah. Whereas, the organization has spoken things in the name of Jehovah which have not come to pass.
We then run into another problem, by using our own conscience, we risk going against the organization, which is grounds for disfellowshipment.
Do not equate leaving the org with leaving Jehovah. They are two separate things. You don't need a congregation to have a relationship with your God and my God. -

I find that to attribute "and you will know that the Jehovah of armies has sent me" to the angel is out of context. The angel is, indeed, delivering the speech on behalf of Jehovah, but notice he never speaks of himself or his purpose in this entire chapter. Everything the angel speaks are utterances of Jehovah. Not once does he declare himself anything. So to attribute THAT quote as the angel trying to prove that this is how you will know that he has been sent by Jehovah simply does not makes any sense.
I have a question to pose though...Does the original Hebrew contain quotations?
Does anyone know? What kind of punctuation exists in the original Hebrew manuscripts? -

Gods organisation here on Earth
by Dr Jekyll inok so we all know that the faithful and discrete slave class claim to be gods organisation here on earth and that they claim that a god of order would have an organisation to organise his followers but can anyone pull a scripture of of their hat that proves that god doesn't need an organisation here on earth?
