It's suppose to have some minor corrections, and more proof against the 1914 teaching of JW's. (I might post a short summary of some of the additional material, as received in an email, but I had better clear it with Carl before doing this).

Whose been to Hawaii?

i'm thinking of taking a vacation to hawaii.

i've not researched it yet so i don't know which island to stay on and don't know what there is to see or do besides snorkeling and don ho.

for any who have been, can you share your opinions and perhaps some advice based on your experience in paradise?

Try the outer islands (i.e., other than Oahu)! If you have limited time, like a week or less, then only pick one and enjoy! If you want to go on the cheap, there?s cabins for about $42-$45/night -- no TV, but shower, stove, and refrigerator.

Nephew tries to witness to me !

well my nephew says he wants to get baptised so i ask him why?

he says it's something he's always wanted to do and he intends on pioneering and eventually bethel.

i tell him that i hope him getting baptised doesn't mean he will no longer visit me.

I?m sorry for your family rejection. I?m experiencing something similar with my JW-family; my brother no longer wants to talk to me, although I haven?t been DF?d or DA?d.

It?s interesting how WT misapplies the account of Moses and Korah! When you look at the account more closely, Korah was assuming an authority he was not entitled to have!

Well, what about the GB? Who authorized them? The WT claims Christ Jesus did so, "directly." This subject was a point of contention with my brother and me! I asked him a number of questions, like "when were they appointed?" "Where? How? Did Jesus materialize a fleshly body, and appear before them? Did he walk through some walls?"

I also asked him about the three recent additions to the GB. I asked him, "did Christ Jesus directly appoint them too?" Or rather, "was there a vote taken?" Of course, I received no answer to these questions, because it goes without saying that the GB is self-appointed! Duh!

Suicide

has anyone heard of richard wheelock?

if so, where can i get some press info in regards to his suicide.

for those who dont know, apparently this was a prominent member of the bethel family, that commited suicide by jumping from the 4th floor bethel infirmary window....

It's sad in a way, but this guy was a complete asshole to me, while I was in Bethel!

In a meeting with the ?factory committee,? which he was a part of, he and 4 others (?factory committee?) used every 4-letter curse-word, over a four-hour (plus) period! They yelled, screamed, were extremely abusive, used ever curse-word, some expressions I?ve never heard before, but could only imagine at a truck-stop! I'm only glad that they never really broke me! However, I?m only now recovering, some decades later, and I?m trying to free myself from their demon-possessed, ?organization!?

I understand, that shortly after his wife?s death, he jumped out an infirmary building at WT headquarters, about 3 or 4 years ago! But he many have been a victim of is own demise; a self-centered, corrupt group of self-appointed ?prophets!? And if there is a Devil, he was definently his offspring! Of course, I?m not the final judge, but this guy was a very bad, corrupt, wicked person in my life! I don't miss him! Probably, I'd help him "jump-off!"

I agree with you in your conclusion. However, regarding your statement, may I suggest you reconsider: ?In cases where the Bible writer is quoting from the OT, then we know he means God not Jesus. In this scripture there is no cross-reference given after the word Lord.?

From Ray Franz?s books, I learned that with many of the quotes or paraphrases from the Old Testament, the writer evidently projects YHWH to Jesus, not that the two are the same, but because Jesus was now placed in a position similar to YHWH, to the congregation, then in that way, Christ is now viewed in a similar fashion.

For example, Ray sites Romans 10:5-15. The Society says that almighty God is the one spoken of in verses 11-15, however, as Ray (I believe, correctly) points out, the base Greek NT-text uses Lord, and in the context, the quote was applied to Christ Jesus, as the ?name? that should be ?called on.? ? see

Anyway, I now feel that many/most of the quotes by Christian writers, quoting from old testament scriptures originally referring to YHWH, were projected onto Christ!

Hey Blondie, another great review!

Say, I've got a question about the theme text. The lesson states that the "Lord" mentioned in Eph. 6:10, is Jehovah. However, when you look at other translations (that don?t force the name of God in places where it shouldn't be), I?m wondering if the "Lord" referred there isn't Christ Jesus? Take a look at chapter 6 in different translations, and you?ll see what I mean.
