Thanks Blondie!
I agree with you in your conclusion. However, regarding your statement, may I suggest you reconsider: ?In cases where the Bible writer is quoting from the OT, then we know he means God not Jesus. In this scripture there is no cross-reference given after the word Lord.?
From Ray Franz?s books, I learned that with many of the quotes or paraphrases from the Old Testament, the writer evidently projects YHWH to Jesus, not that the two are the same, but because Jesus was now placed in a position similar to YHWH, to the congregation, then in that way, Christ is now viewed in a similar fashion.
For example, Ray sites Romans 10:5-15. The Society says that almighty God is the one spoken of in verses 11-15, however, as Ray (I believe, correctly) points out, the base Greek NT-text uses Lord, and in the context, the quote was applied to Christ Jesus, as the ?name? that should be ?called on.? ? see
Anyway, I now feel that many/most of the quotes by Christian writers, quoting from old testament scriptures originally referring to YHWH, were projected onto Christ!
Just my 2-cents -- love your posts, blondie! I?m glad this board has folks like you! Cyberguy

Hey Blondie, another great review!
Say, I've got a question about the theme text. The lesson states that the "Lord" mentioned in Eph. 6:10, is Jehovah. However, when you look at other translations (that don?t force the name of God in places where it shouldn't be), I?m wondering if the "Lord" referred there isn't Christ Jesus? Take a look at chapter 6 in different translations, and you?ll see what I mean.
evidently, there?s a new scandal with prince?s new video and terrorism!
as most know on this board, prince recently became a jw!
now he has a new video that is very offensive to those victimized by terrorism (or those who are sensitive to this issue)!

WOW! Very interesting!
hey guys, .
some of you know a little bit about me.
i'm a promient jw for years here, because i've been successful in my career.
Just be honest! However, I wouldn?t bring up the Christmas-thing, since I don?t believe that is what really distinguishes JW?s from other religions. The main difference is the JW-position on the Kingdom being setup in 1914! Without that, the whole JW-thing falls down like a house-of-cards! Furthermore, Jesus taught that "love" would be the identifying mark. So if any group were to be disqualified, I?d say this one attribute would be at the top of my list! Anyway, this is just my 2-cents!
Looking to read your review when you post it!
does anyone know anything about the watchtower's computer engineering research lab?.
there was one once, when they designed and built their own system for composing and formatting text.. where was it?
how many people staffed the facility?.
jst2laws ?
I worked with Reiner Holm at the farm for 3 months on the precursor to the MEPS. He had an EE degree. I mainly worked in Brooklyn, on the software developments there. I was the guy that got John Ekran his job at the Farm, for eventually working on the MEPS. The Japan "brains" as far as I know, were never used, but they did visit Brooklyn Bethel (they were "heavy?s" in A.I. research in Japan). Cal Chyke, was Gary Horn?s brother-in-law. The IBM equipment and the MEPS hardware have been gotten rid of and replaced with inexpensive PC?s, except for the multinational keyboards in some branches. I believe the phototypesetters are still in use at present. And yes, they use off-the-shelf software for typesetting now, except for a few languages.

Gary Horn, who was a majority shareholder in a White Plains company that designed and manufactured computer components for IBM, sponsored it. His sister was married to a prominent guy on the Factory Committee. They setup a for-profit company that was connected with his White Plains company, and was staffed by Bethelites (free labor of course) and software/hardware guys from his company (who were full-time employees).
This initial goal was not what turned into the MEPS, but a "dumb" terminal connected to a minicomputer (IBM Series-I), and finally connected to an IBM Mainframe to do the text layout. Later, the "design" was changed so that the MEPS consisted of a custom-configured, 4-processor box (Intel 8086), custom manufactured by Gary?s company. Of course, as PC?s came into market, they replaced the original custom box and the only remaining portion is the software.
Also, there was some development at the farm of a custom-typesetting machine, but they bought the laser and film transport mechanisms from somebody, developed a microprocessor controller and did the controller programming. They also developed the fonts and technique for scanline-conversion.
i have read so many posts relating conversations or correspondance with jw's who you think just don't "get it".
after presenting what you're sure is hard evidence against their organization, they roll their eyes and shoo you away, and you walk away thinking that they're so brainwashed they'll never see reality.. i don't remember every petty negative comment i ever heard about the org, but i'm pretty sure i remember every issue of substance i came across.
a householder at the door explaining john 1:1, a whispered conversation about the content of c of c, an inactive person saying they'll never come back because they discovered the "truth" wasn't the truth, seeing for myself changing doctrine.
Sometimes it just takes time! And if we belive this, we'll be take it in strides regarding our family/friends who are still in the so-called "truth!" Thanks for your sincere comments! Best wishes!
