by cyberguy inisaiah's prophecy--light for all mankind, vol.
i (new watchtower publication), makes a strange comment regarding isaiah 4:2:.
"in that day what jehovah makes sprout will come to be for decoration and for glory, and the fruitage of the land will be something to be proud of and something beautiful for those of israel who have escaped.".

augest 1, 2001, p. 14, par.
first, since "oneness" is to be observed, a mature christian must be in unity and full harmony with fellow believers as far as faith and knowledge are concerned.

by cyberguy inwhen out in the ministry, jw's are quick to tell householders that the bible doesn't teach the "trinity" or the "rapture," because these words don't occur in the bible, well how about the following expressions?.

Role of Theology and Bias in Bible Translation
by cyberguy inhas anyone read rolf furuli's book, the role of theology and bias in bible translation -- with a special look at the new world translation of jehovah's witnesses?
i found it somewhat interesting that one of his few complaints with the nwt, is that people ought to be able to make an informed choice; he then sites the removal of important information regarding christ's parousia in the latest large print edition of the nwt.
the original version (the large print dark green bible, published in the early 1960's), mentions deissmann's alternative data for parousia being used with the sense of "arrival" in extra-bibleical papyri (see pp.

Elders and Ministerial Servants in Brooklyn Bethel
by cyberguy injust wondering.... why is it that some in brooklyn have been bethel elders at headquarters for years, yet are not serving as elders in their local congregations?
why are some bethelites appointed elders in their local congregations and yet don't qualify as such in bethel?
if bethel is run like a congregation, why isn't there any ministerial servants in bethel, only elders?.

144K literal #? Isaiah 54/Gal 42:27 Reconsidered
by cyberguy inin the new "isaiah's prophecy light for all mankind" book 2 from the society, an explanation of isaiah 54 is given, starting on page 216. it explains the tent expansion corresponds to jerusalem's expansion of jews after the babylonian exile, with an expanded fulfillment on the christian congregation, starting in 33 ce.
the "barren women" gives birth christ at baptism and to a literal number of 144,000, when they become "anointed", so the book claims.
then on pages 218-219, abraham's family is related to different groups.

Question about the latest fix-the-doctrine talks
by cyberguy indoes anyone know if co's read a letter to the effect, that the "question from readers" about voting left as a "conscious matter," not to be questioned by anyone, was only meant for jw's in former communist countries?
our co didn't read it, but i don't live in the continental us.
if so, have changes also been made in the elder's book on what are grounds for a committee meeting and df'ing in this regard?
