Did You Donate Contributions To The Hall & Society?
by minimus inmy mom told me that the elders spent a lot of time in the service meeting expressing the need for donations.
they showed that area congregations were even remodeling their halls yet they weren't even covering needed expenses in their own hall for utilities!
within the same pep talk evening, they read a letter from the society thanking them for the congregation's $200 donation!

As a JW were you ever counseled about clothes you wore, or lack thereof ?

i for one was trying to reach out for ministerial servant again in the early 90's , had been one before, and was assigned to carry the microphones one meeting.
had an elder call me in the back room and say , " brother flipper, i noticed looking down towards your shoes that you are wearing white socks today.

the problem is not mine--it is my husband that has the problem.
Sorry, but you don't have a 'magic muffin' that surpasses all others. To honestly expect that your husband becomes like a eunuch except when in your presence is ridiculous. I'm married, and before I signed the corporate partnership with my wife I had told her that I will always notice beautiful women and that if she finds that offensive then she's unrealistic and should never be married. Not for one second am I jealous when my wife notices a good looking guy. Is she going home with him or me? At the end of the day she's still with me. If she does go home with the other guy. Big deal. Then I'll find a better person to be with.

Outside the JW community however, I know of few men that continued to pay the mortgages or spousal support for any great length of time. Child support yes - but not spousal support.
That merely depends on the state that you get divorced in. In many states, if you divorce after ten years then the primary income earner has to pay out allimony to their ex until he/she dies.

Am I being unreasonable?
Yes.
Just pretend you are now a landlord. And when the house sells you will get your percentage of the profits based on whatever terms you have worked out. A landlord in most areas needs to give notice prior to entering their property. It's really not that big of a deal. As long as you get the money you are entitled to then I personally think you shouldn't worry about it.

The meeting tonight was UNBEARABLE

for those who don't know me, i no longer believe, but have only just begun my slow fade.. the meeting was unbearable.
first there was the brother who happily pointed out that i'd missed two meetings recently and that he was keeping track.

I have an aunt, that has been known to keep track of everyone's attendence and then contact them on the phone to 'encourage' them and find out why they have been missing.
In a congregation exceeding 100 publishers, I can imagine that it would take considerable time for my aunt to figure out who is missing. Shouldn't these nosy j-dubs be giving their full attention to the craptower and the puke talk?
