I second that. I misunderstood the original post, meaning to have compromised the condoms in a way that they would cause a pregnancy without the user knowing the risk or what had been done.

i watched him on tv yesterday as he quarterbacked the raiders/chargers game and was proud of the way he handled himself.. my interest in him is due to the fact that his grandma - who watched him while mom worked - lives down the street from my brother in mobile, alabama.. he's a fine young man, and i predict great things for him next season.. sylvia.
I don't know him, but I do know that his love of money is stronger than his love of the game. He held out for more money at the beginning of the year and that is why he didn't get to play until the last few weeks of the season.
I don't think football or any sport is what it used to be.(or possibly, it never was) I'm slowly losing interest due to the reality that it's all about money and nothing else. I don't blame anyone that tries to get as much money as possible(I would do the same thing), but why should we as fans, be exposed to the financial underbelly of the game we love or used to love?
Regardless, as a former football fan and raiders fan, I hope he does well.

I agree Philip. The j-dubs try to portray god as a loving caring father, yet any human father that behaved like jehovah of the bible would find his ass in prison.

in post-jw life, it seems to me that acceptance of this basic fact of life, the reality that we will die, is a healthy thing to do.
yet, i believe that most jw's cling to a hope that armageddon will spare them death, even when they see death at the doors.
they have never prepared themselves for the reality, and when it becomes inevitable, the pain of that realization must be intense for some of them.

Most employers of Automotive Technicians do not reimburse their technician's tool expenses. It's quite common for a tech to spend 5k or more per year on tools. When I worked in that trade, I spent more than 10 grand in one particular year. Writing it off as an expense was my only option.
Now I'm self employed, so I seek out every legal tax write off that I can find. The purpose for me is to lower my income so that I pay as little tax as possible. There are many disadvantages though. Showing a very low taxable income on my tax forms, makes it more difficult to get high dollar loans.
In the end, you have to do what is best for your pocketbook. An accountant can be very useful in determining when a write-off is good for you or not so good.

the jewish religious leaders were condemned by christ for their biases.. why do jehovah's witnesses treat disfellowshipped ones as if they were "dead"?

i have been busy reading steve hassan's book, " combatting cult mind control " and just wanted to share several thoughts now that i'm about 25% through the book.
it has been a real eye opener of how the power of a cult like the " jehovah's witnesses works.. one thing he mentioned is that in cults, " members are systematically made to feel phobic about ever leaving the group .
Offhand, does anyone know if the Society has ever discussed mind-control and how it's used upon recruits?
I don't think the mind control is something that most, if not all cults are even aware they are doing. I view cult mind control as a sort of peer pressure(on steroids) I think of my time as a child in gradeschool. I recall the cliques and groups that the kids would separate into on the playground. Each group viewing the other group as undesirable and possibly even a threat. Cults are a more dangerous extension of that childhood behavior, or that peer pressure from our friends, family and associates that we sometimes fall prey to.
I'm starting to believe that cults are a natural part of human behavior. Fortunately, not all cults are dangerous or even recognized as one.
