good point Greendawn.
The WT corp will never see a penny from me. Even when I was a 'believer' I rarely contributed monetary funds,, It just seemed wrong, even at that time of my life.
one of the previous posts made me wonder how many active jws post on this site and how many of you are only in because not wanting to lose your family and you are leading a double life and also how many of you are still active but questioning.
please, all of you, i would like to hear your stories (of course not enough info to give away your identity) and why you are still in.
i think a lot of us that are out would be interested.. nowimfree.

wow,, your dad actually went to the movie theatre in a suit and tie?
my mom is the conservative one, dad was an elder/pioneer but he's a fader now,, 20 years and counting.
Though I must say, mom does own jeans, and dresses normal for the theatre. :)

Thanx TallTexan, I really appreciate that.
I'm a newbie! and damn proud of it!
part 1:
when we were faced with tough issues as jws, we used one or more of a few ways to find answers.
we either searched the publications, consulted with an elder, or in some cases, wrote to the society.
I always err on the side of caution and optimism. I would always give life a chance.

I live far away from my family, I stopped turning in time long ago, however I give the appearance of being active to my family. I attend their convention, and assemblies so that I can
spend time with them and give them the impression that I'm spiritual and therefore they stay off my back. Locally I do attend an occasional sunday meeting, but that's it.
I'm not DF'd nor will I ever be cuz I'm just too damn sneaky! :) I only stay so that I don't lose my family to shunning. I'm probably a wuss for doing so, but hey, it's my decision.
my firstborns son's mother i live with asked me today if i wanted anyone else.. i replied "yes, i want to know every unmarried woman on earth, so i can insure i will never feel like i missed out on something.
i want to find my match, a woman that can convince me to give up my free agent status, and spend forever as her property alone.
she got really mad.
Be a man and make a firm decision so that you can both move on together or apart. I think you'll both be happier if you can each decide for certain what the two of you want.
was this just a local arkansas thing or were jw's everywhere getting jiggy at the skating rink?
we used to have awesome skating parties and witnesses from 150 miles away would come sometimes.
or sometimes we would drive that far to go to one.
thinking about these skating parties, caused me to remember a dance party we had. I was slow dancing with my g/f and I remember some elders yelling out to us,
"make sure we can see some holy spirit between the two of you!!!" I just shook my head, pulled her closer and whispered, 'here's my holy spirit for ya'

Yep, we had 'em in minnesota. As mentioned by Blondie, it was rarely hosted by an elder or servant,, ours were always hosted by someone 'weak' in the 'truth'. I am thankful
she went against the counsel and continued to host these skating parties, cuz at that pathetic point in my life I needed as much 'normal' social interaction as i could get.
