Admit it Gary, the elder involved was only wearing a g-string.

he spoke of what goes on at these sites (as my mum does and other dubs) not realising its just like anywhere, good folks and not good folks.. you ever had a dub scared of ya?

Thanks to Scientology and Moonies we can at least say that we were never members of the most wacked out cults on the planet. True,, we just happen to be # 3 on the list of most whacked out cults on the planet.

Purza,
The car you want might be valuable, but more time with your child is invaluable.
I think the car can wait.

by sf incan riches make you happy?
what is the relationship between money and happiness?

If riches don't make you happy, then why does the 'lack of riches' make you unhappy?

Pharisees!
by Good Girl or Bad Girl? ini'm sure this kind of thing has been discussed before, but who here thinks the elders remind them of the pharisees with their guidelines strict rules?
like the length of a slit in your skirt, or no sideburns on men or no beards, or men can't dye their hair, or no colored dress shirts or suits on the "brothers".
they would say these were guidelines but then take your "privileges" away if you didn't comply.

They make the Pharisees look like sheep!
Good point, I'm sure the pharisees of old would be afraid of their modern day counterparts.

Do you think it`s hard to have a relationship after you leave?
by dido ini have been out for 4 years now, and find it hard to meet someone who i find is compatible.
one of the reasons being is that they haven`t experienced what it is like to come out of a cult, and i find there is a void there.
does anyone else feel like this?
-
Highlander
Absolutely, 100 % yes!
I'm a fader so for me I'm living the horrible, dreaded, satanic DOUBLE LIFE!!! gasp!!!
But since I'm caught in the middle it's always been hard to find someone compatible.
I would imagine that even if you walked away and cut all ties from this sick, f'd up cult, you may still have a long transition period trying to adapt to a normal life.

Other than the fanatic dubs that were truly trying to convert everyone, I believe that most dubs merely paid lip-service to the notion of 'field service'
In other words it was merely peer pressure that motivated the regular dub to go preaching. This is why the 'coffee-breaks' last 1.5 hours and that everyone trudges slowly down the
street so as to waste as much time as possible before that precious 'coffee-break' And then ofcourse after the looooooooooooooooong coffee break at mcdonalds, the second half
of the morning service was for driving long distances to a return visit that conveniently isn't home.
But hey, at least I had some good coffee and bagels!

OMG!!! They've just voted Chris off American Idol...
by TresHappy inthis totally sucks...had it with this show.
-
Highlander
Really?
That sucks,, the only reason I watched this year was because of Chris and Taylor,, IMO they are the only true entertainers to have been on the show.
Yes, the others can sing, but singing AND entertaining is a whole other level.

A new urban legend
by loosie ini just got this in my email.
has anyone heard this one yet?.
this is an experience from andre' r_____, overseer, just back from the branch committee course at patterson: in england, one of our blind brothers had a seeing-eye dog that would faithfully guide and take him to the meetings each week.
-
Highlander
Haha,
I haven't heard that one before. Ya know what I think? We should pool our minds together here and create our own JW urban legend, then send it out to our dear faithful brothers.
I bet it won't take long to spread throughout the JW KingDumb.
I'm betting in 4 weeks any urban legend we create will spread itself throughout the world.

Sagan and anyone who care toreply
by jw in.
!.
only intelligent replys.. 2.no big bang replys.. what is your theory on how humans came into existence?
-
Highlander
JW,
What is the point is asking a question that absolutely no one knows the answer to?
The reality is, nobody knows for certain how life came into existance. I would rather be honest with myself and simply say that I don't know, instead of
forcing fairy tales upon everyone else.
