Holy hell Batman!!
Something doesn't seem right about this, but it wouldn't surprise me if they resort to publishing their mags through conventional channels. At least that way they could generate
income, which I'm sure they are running out of.

The day a brother died in my Hall, & the unbelievable events that followed.
by Mr Ben inthis one really freaked me out.
i was so brainwashed at the time i found a way to justify it.
i think i?ve been repressing my anger about this and now i need to vent.

the man who was given the public talk was held up as some kind of amazing professional speaker. As he was able to ignore the events he could see so well from his position and keep doing his talk.
Wonderful: so ultimately, the asshole on the platform was given honour, while the dying 'loved' one was ignored by the masses.

Parents Getting Separated
by GetBusyLiving ini haven't posted in quite a while, hope you all are doing decent.
well, the shitbag watchtower snake is back just when things were getting good.
my mom and dad are getting seperated now because a couple of elders told my still active dad it was a good idea since she has apostate "leanings".

I'm sorry about your parents situation. It's quite amazing when I hear j-dubs claim they have strong family units, yet in reality j-dubs are the cause or influence in many
broken families.
on a side note: did you take your screen name from the movie "shawshank redemption" there's a line that goes something like this:
"it comes down to a choice, either get busy living, or get busy dying."

At a commencement ceremony at a college not too far away, one of the graduating students' grandfather collapsed during the ceremony. Do you stop commencement for such an event?
Sorry, but unless you are qualified to help, the BEST thing to do is stay out of the way and the best way to stay out of the way is to continue on.
Yes, it is best to stay out of the way unless you are a qualified EMT or have experience in such events. However YOU DO NOT interfere with the help that's being given
by raising your voice from the platform as the PO so eloquently did while continuing the meeting service.
At an event where many of the attendees do not know eachother and the event is very large, it is somewhat normal to continue the proceedings,, at a church where
EVERYONE should or does know eachother, and SHOULD love eachother, then some compassion should be given and respect given to the dying person in their midst.
"by there fruits you shall know them"

Wow. This thread is unbelievable, yet, having been raised as a dub, I know that these experiences are true.
I have a friend that died playing a sports game,, his death was used as an infomercial of why sports are bad.
During a convention in Rochester, MN. I recall that a young child had either been hurt or even drowned in the local river/stream that circled the convention center.
This ofcourse was used as an example as well. No sympathy was given,, only fear was spewed from the platform about the incident.
I believe the j-dubs are too afraid to stop a meeting to care for a dying loved one. Fear is the only reason that most attend these f'ing meetings.

"Nervous Breakdowns"
by scout575 in"i live in a small town, total area pop around 80,000. i can name so many priests throughout my lifetime that left either because they got married, became indicated in sexual abuse, had nervous breakdowns or just got fed up with rome and the diocese.
parishes are combining due to lack of attendance, schools are closing and they keep praying for f****** vocations!!!!

I was always aware of ex-jdub sites and ex-mormon sites, however I never realized there were ex-christian sites relating to 'mainstream' churches. interesting.

Have you ever thought about....
by rassillon increating an account here and pretending to be a brother sister (elder) or whatever using their name to get the wt watchers to come down on them, just so you could watch the show?

I've given thought to that, or even writing a DA letter on behalf of someone and watching in amusement.
One could even post pics of the individual you are impersonating.
I personally wouldn't do it as I consider it dishonest, but it is a nice dream to have.

DC, all but gave directions to the JWD site
by ocsrf in.
i found the dc very interesting this year do to my reading of this site.
i took note that the danger of the internet was menitioned no less than three times, once with a demonstration showing a brother who found a site by a innocent search of the web on a jw subject to the very last talk, concluding remarks and final "resolution" that consisted of 10 items with number 10 staying away from dangerous sites and chat rooms.. makes you wonder what the real story is behind that much attention being given to this problem iof theirs.. oc

dvds/vcrs (I know elders who try to check what people have; looking for R-rated and up)
Yep, I've seen that happen personally. An elder came over to visit with my roommate and his g/f (it was kind of a shepherding call about dating) and proceeded to inspect my
roommate's cd's, dvd's and books. Later this roommate discarded various movies and CD's. He became an MS too. Fortunately, he woke up and has now faded away.

No offense to anyone,, but there is just something wrong with the way that guy is dressed. A nerdy white guy, wearing a chain along with his unbuttoned shirt.
It's just not right, I hope they don't live in a rough neighborhood, he won't last a week.
Who knows, maybe I'm wrong, and this guy is a badass stud that could kill me with just a look.
