Governing Body member Gerrit Lösch spoke at my District Convention
by under_believer ingerrit losch (it's pronounced kinda like "lirsh") did two things at our dc (portland, or june 30-july 2).
he released the new book about the minor prophets, and he gave the closing talk, the one with the resolution in it.
first of all, losch was not promoted to the governing body because of his speaking ability.

Yes, my mother and brother called from the road to the convention yesterday all a twitter over the new convention (I mean way more than usual).
I tend to agree that this year the j-dubs are falling all over themselves in their renewed anticipation of the impending gloom and doom of armageddon.
I got my hands onto an email from a recent attendee and am shocked at their reaction of just now realizing that the 'new system' is so close at hand.
Please, the new system is going to be here soooooon. just like last year and the year before.

Time is their enemy
by LDH intick, tick, tick.. the governing body is dying one by one, faster now.. young people who thought they would never see themselves getting old now take meds for cholesterol, alzheimers, diabetes, blood pressure.. the end isn't here.. tick, tick, tick.. kids who walked away from the wt after being warned that they would die like a dog in the streets instead are very successful young people with real jobs, families, and assets.. empty threats stop having an effect.
apathy sets in.

About half the DF's go back? Really?

i know some who went back and promptly faded, some who went back and were "bt" jws (barely there), a few who went back and quickly got df'd again usually before they even got privileges back.. but the one that takes the cake (in my opinion) is the former po of my parent's congregation who had been giving dc parts for years getting disfellowshipped a couple of months after giving the rousing talk, "abhor what is wicked, cling to what is good.
" only after his reinstatement did i discover that was his third df.

I also went back a few years after disfellowshipping no 2 and was reinstated and dfed on the same night.

That's where I'm at! no witnessing, just anti-witnessing and maybe 1 meeting per year.

THere are more occurances of natural disasters everywhere. The flooding that is occuring all across the United States. i don't pay attention to the weather in other areas of the world, sorry. THere are more earthquakes occuring. Hurricanes, tornados, tusinamis, etc. There is more violence as time continues.
Can't really agree with that. History shows us that nothing has changed,, Even the many hurricanes we are seeing occurs in cycles. I'm thankful to be living in our time frame
which gives humans the opportunity to live longer than ever before.
