when the economy is good, I'm a glass artist... when the economy is bad I work for private people doing land management (like 400 acres of land) mostly clearing fire roads & burning burn piles (pyrotech)

Double Standards?
by OpenFireGlass intalk about a dysfunctional family life.... did anyone else experience growing up in a dub family that had a double standard for siblings?.
my younger sister was allowed too: have new kids on the block posters on her wall, as well as gotten taken to a nkotb concert... have & play a keyboard.
pick her own music, & have a boom box in her room.

Well, I view myself as a compassionate cuba libra drinker.
So, Please Do Tell... do you drink cuba libra's for the flavor? Or do you like the warm fuzzy feeling they give ya?

FLUFF: Tell us your favorite weird movie, and...
by GentlyFeral inall right, now that we're talking about movies again, let's turn each other on to some of these:the best movie you thought you'd hatemine are: perfect blue my first exposure to intelligent anime.
come to think of it, this is definitely a "best weird movie," too.fight club i'd been avoiding it for years because of the violence.the truman show i mean, jim carrey's mugging plus cliched preachments.
well, that's what it could have been.basquiat a depressing ending to a story of mixed accomplishment and really bad judgement, complicated by mental illness but the scene where he hallucinates a work of art he has just designed, and smiles it explains so much.

Yeah, I understand that the older sibling might have it harder in most families... But what kind of parents don't want to see their child to learn how to play a musical instrument, and what kinda dad doesn't want to see his son play on the high scool football team?... I think it's mostly JW parents...

Loss of Elders
by metatron inlarge numbers of jw congregations are going to be trouble long before they lose their last elder to death or resignation.. most congregations i know have at least one - and often several - elders who can barely function at all, due to illness, old age.
or just plain inability to accomplish anything.
the society seems loathe to remove these men, despite their 'elder in name only'.

So , What happens if armageddon comes while they are sitting in front of Walmart? Is that really the safest place to be?
Oh, the irony of the setting up at Walmart & shopping malls alike.... shouldn't they set up at zoo's & parks?... HMMM I guess they expect people to have some spare change after they walk out of walmart...

HA! These are the papers my dad would always try to get me to do/write... I just as soon do no paper cause I couldn't stay after school or get to a library... Doing no paper earned me an "F"... An "F" earned me a beating.... Just goes to show I would rather have been humiliated privately, than humiliated among my peers...
