I am sure the first thing the Churches do with Klingdom Halls that are sold is hold an exorsism! Where is Linda Blair when you need her!

Why did the JW's Shun my mother at her funeral?
by DaveNwisconsin inmy mom had died on december 9, 2005. she had been loyal to that religion for 35 years.
she had been in a nursing home for the last two years.
some of the old ladies would come and mom would still write a letter to a "not at home" once and awhile.

Hello again, we had a showing at the funeral home on the first day, that was a Monday. The visitation went from 4pm to 8pm with a prayer service at 7pm. That would have given the JW's three hours to pay respects with no service going on. They should have shown there respects.
I did have one lady write to me and say that if I wanted the witnesses there I should not have planned anything other than having some people from the Hall do a "memorial". That makes sense but no matter what kind of service she had the next day they still could have came to the funeral the night before. I go to visitations for many different faiths, not just my faith.

The one person who showed up gave us a card with $10.00 in it. My first thought was I should send a thank you and tell them the money was going to be used for mass. Then I thought it over and sent the person a thank you and told them that they were the only Witness at the wake or funeral. I thanked them for coming and said that they should be very proud of themselves for coming and that Mom would have been proud they were there also. Hopefully some day I will hear from them saying that they left that cult. That religion is really a mess...........

There should be a way one can ban them from coming to our homes anyhow. Why would I want to buy a magazine from people dressed like Stepford wives?

I am ok anewme, I don't want to be a JW. When I turned 40 I thought its time to get involved in a religion and chose Catholic because the rest of my family came from the church. I know its not perfect, I don't blindly take everything they say either. I sing in the choir in my church and do solo work there too as a canter. Canters lead the assembly in song. There is no fear of me getting involved with the JW's and sights like this one will keep me away from that! I do respect other religions not like our Jw's people practice.

What surprises me is that the JW's that I work with still talk to me. Do you think I should ask them about all of this? They know I am not interested in becoming a JW. But my Mother was good to each and every one of them. I was ok with them not being there at first but now a few months have gone by and I am thinking that they screwed her memory. That burns me up!
