Weirdest People you've met while Witnessing!!! {Nut cases}
by Witness 007 ini once called on a guy who invited us straight in...then told us he was "lazarus son of god.
" he had a cazy look in his eye, and would repeat this line every few minutes.
the brother with me was trying to "reason from the scriptures" that he in fact could not be lazarus...i just wanted to leave.

lol, so good to read some stuff that makes me laugh, these stories are awesome, unfortunately I dont think I have any to add.
Actually I do remember a lady I met as a teenager. I went D2D with my best friend and this lady told us she used to go to meetings but the elders thought she had a demon, so they went through all of her things but couldn't find anything. Eventually she left and joined the mormons because they "believed basically the same thing but had better stuff for her kids like basket ball hoops and get togethers". Funny we weren't scared of her and stayed for a good long chat, quite interesting really. Not quite weird though, made us think.

Recording Judicial Committee meetings........and having fun!
by nicolaou inthe 'flock' book (elders manual) makes this quite clear and upon arriving at your judicial hearing one of the first questions you will be asked is whether you have any recording/transmitting equipment with you.. however, most jw's will have never seen - or even heard of - the 'flock' book.
do a search on the wt cd on recording meetings and you will see that it all pertains to the recording of meetings at the kingdom hall and conventions and that any brother wishing to make such recordings is free to do so so long as the recording equipment is not attached to the society's equipment.
the one question of propriety that is raised has to do with recording prayers.

Good on you for telling her.
My mum came around last week and told me that the elders said she should treat me the same as my hubby (who is DF'd). I have been faded for 6 years or so. She said I should talk to the elders and tell them how I feel, I told her that if I do that they will DF me for sure. She said she was sorry that was how I felt. She said its the truth and she believes it, I said its not, its lies and how could she break up her family for some organisation controlled by men who dont have holy spirit. She said the elders have holy spirit when they make good decisions but not when they make bad ones. What the....? How can she live with their decisions then? pffffftt.
I didn't handle the whole thing as well as I would have liked. I doubt she will ever leave but I continually hope she will.

by student1 inso tonight i recieved a few phone calls that have done nothing to lighten my already heavy mood... .
i am starting to think that disfellowshipping is a way to protect us (the ex dubs) from them (the deluded existing jdubs!

Well my mum just came over and told me her and my MIL had been to see the elders and they can't speak to me or hubby any more. I have just been bawling my eyes out for the last hour. She still wants to see my kids though.
Maybe they are having a bit of a push to "bring us back into the fold"?
