i heard that so often when i studied. i knew many couples who were newly married and wanted kids but didnt do it cause of what the witnesses would tell them. they said it wasnt fair to have kids in this system of things. i knew one couple where the wife wanted a baby so badly she babysat everyones kids in the organization including mine, but her faithful husband wouldnt budge on his decision, so she had to go along with it. sad.

college questions.
by jaada inhello everyone, i was wondering it has been along time since i have been to the jw hall and when i was going they would give me a guilt trip about going to college and tell me that i shouldn't waste time on that and instead learn how to go door to door.
i wasted 11 years not going to college because of them and i just went back 3 years ago.
i still have 4 more years to go.

hello everyone, i was wondering it has been along time since i have been to the jw hall and when i was going they would give me a guilt trip about going to college and tell me that i shouldn't waste time on that and instead learn how to go door to door. i wasted 11 years not going to college because of them and i just went back 3 years ago. i still have 4 more years to go. but i know that the witnesses have seem to change their beliefs now and i was wondering if they changed this belief. however i have seen that the witnesses have doctors and lawyers too so they have to go to college to get there so how can they say this about others going to college? also what about their stance on blood and on the last days. they would tell me that this generation would not pass away and that the end would come, but i was so scared for my kids and my husband who didnt practice i thought jehovah is going to kill them. how awful! i still feel afraid sometimes because i dont know what to believe. i want to be doing the right thing when and if the end does come, and i hope my children and grandchildren are safe as well. and as for college sometimes i get discouraged and feel like maybe i am wasting my time in college and should just quit. ok sorry i just need to blurt this all out, i have so many questions and concerns. thanks all.

Couple of JW Sisters came to my door - mini rumble
by Qcmbr infirst of all want to thank you all for informing me of the good the bad and smurfly about jws - i was so stoked when these two sister's knocked on my door.
i apologise now - i was a smug git - in fairness they conducted themselves impeccably in the face of me.
this is how it went (paraphrased to highlight 'clever' bits i said and downplay swathes of conversation when i said silly things.

ok i have to add my 2 cents in about mormons, yes they did want to convert all Native Americans, i know i am native american and my ex was mormon. my new husband has his brothers and sisters taken from his family by mormons they did this often on the indian reservations, to teach them the mormon ways, they take them for summers into their homes and teach them. no one knew how bad this was until they all came to the reservations teaching us that our ways are pagan and we are lower forms of humans. they tried to convert us all the time. not just mormons thats true catholics as well . The Native ways have been around much longer than the mormons catholics or jehovahs witnesses, we have always believed in a creator. and this was out of the mouth of my ex husbands grandfather that the black man is the mark that cain bore after killing his brother.
I started listening to the jehovahs witness's a few years ago everything they said was so nice and they were not racist. but when i got to see them for what they really were like i was left bitter, and i should have known better than to get involved with organized religion. but i do now :)

I'm new here and have lots of questions
by jaada inhello, i am new to this board, i am not a jehovahs witness however i studied with them for years, i went out into service a couple of times, but i havent done anything in 4 years.
i am so confused.
i always have been scared of the last days thing, but i could never accept the fact that while i was in the meetings, my husband and parents were all at home and the witnesses would tell me that unless they changed and started coming to the meetings that they would be killed!

Hello, I am new to this board, I am not a jehovahs witness however I studied with them for years, I went out into service a couple of times, but I havent done anything in 4 years. I am so confused. I always have been scared of the last days thing, but I could never accept the fact that while I was in the meetings, my husband and parents were all at home and the witnesses would tell me that unless they changed and started coming to the meetings that they would be killed! I also remember being told that when I was in my last marriage, my husband was very abusive, they would tell me that I couldnt leave him except if he cheated on me, it was horrible, I was also told not to go to college because I needed to focus on going out in service because the end was near. so I didnt go to college and I didnt encourage my children to either until the last 4 years. I have gone back to school and encourage my children to go as well. I only wish I would have started earlier. 3 years ago I found my birth mother, ( I was adopted at birth) I found out I was of native american decent, I have always had a calling to it and I have been searching to learn all I can, but now the tribes are talking of a sort of gathering an armagedon, and that we are in the last days and now I am rethinking everything. Also, I have always had some psyhic abilities, I was told that those are demons telling me things and that scared me to death! I would pray please Jehovah let them leave me alone.
I was introduced to the witnesses when I was 17, I am 36 now. I always believed most of what they taught, except my ex husbands family was JW and I remember how they treated me and how they never did anything when he would beat me up, I remember siting in sunday meetings and his brother would be talking about how after the meeting he was inviteing all his JW friends over and they would have a tequila party. His Jw family members were all drunks, child abusers, wife abusers and no one ever said a thing, I even told the elders about this all and nothing. so you see, I am a mess and in need of some really good advice. I really like this site and enjoy reading all the posts. thanks
