by Junction-Guy inlast night darin was at church and the pastor was calling on newer members to give their personal testimonies.
when it was darin's turn the pastor asked him some questions about his background, and darin got to tell of his experience growing up in the jw org.
i told darin --"always look for an in to the conversation, and never pass up an opportunity to speak out against the wt" he laughed and agreed with me.. .

Chicken Pot Pie 1 can of homestyle veg-all (has peas, carrots, potatoes, celery) 1 Can cream of chicken 1/2 can of chicken broth (or dissolve a chicken bullion cube in about 3/4 c water) 1 can or vacuum sealed pkg cubed chicken (or for better flavor use some of a rotiserie chicken) 1 refridgerated pillsbury pie crust (in a box in the section with the canned biscuits Optional: black pepper to taste Put the pie crust in a pie plate. Put in the rest of the ingredients and cover with the other pie crust. cover the edges of the pie crust with foil so it doesn't burn. Cook on 350 until the top is golden brown. I can't remember how long that takes. Chicken crescents: 1 can crescent rolls 1 pkg cream cheese, solved 1 stick margarine or butter, solftened 1 small can mushrooms 1/2 small diced onion 2 cans chicken Mix cream cheese, margarine, mushrooms, onion, and chicken in a bowl. Stuff a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture into the center of the crescent rolls and close the crescent rolls around the mixture. Place on a cookie sheet and cook at 350 for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. How about spaghetti? Its easy and although I always make it from scratch, you can make it with a jar. 8 ingredients but tastes great and quick. And to go with it just heat up a can of asparagus or some other veggie Pecan crusted tilapia Tilapia fillets dethawed (frozen packs in seafood freezer section) 1 cup buttermilk 1 TBS lousianna hot sauce (you can use any hot sauce but use less if its a hotter hot sauce) 1 cup plain bredcrumbs 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup chopped pecans 3/4 cup flour 1/2 cup oil Heat skillet over medium heat with oil in pan. Get out 3 bowls. In one put the flour. In the other put buttermilk and hot sauce. In the last mix salt, pecans, and breadcrumbs. Dredge fillets in flour, then buttermilk mixture, then breadcrumb mixture. Fry in skillet with oil until the fish flakes with a fork.

I remember having big tests that I needed to study for at school -- finals and such -- and still going to the meetings because their education was more important than the secular education. Then my parents would make me have the same bedtime as usual afterwards.

2000 years ago it would read "God Strikes Sinner... Paise YHWH! or ALLA!
by Bryan inno doubt, when the bible was being written this story would have made a full chapter or small book.. "even the secret sinner must account for his actions!
" "his family of four were later stoned to death for hiding his apostacy!".
praise jah!!!!

"The Truth", who coined the term, when did it begin circulating in JW land
by Bob Loblaw inanytime i hear one of my family members or any other jw say the phrase "the truth" in a sentence it makes my blood boil.
christians of different denominations may ask each other: .
"how long have you been a christian?".

Most Christians believe Jesus is "the truth" (the way and the life ... no one gets to the Father except through me)

13-yr old girl writes: example of Witnesses lying
by Dogpatch ini get emails like this all the time.
some jw gets upset at the stuff on my site, and wanting to add more weight/shock value to what they say, they either mention in passing that they are "not one of jehovah's witnesses" or are a child.
this one claims to be a 13-yr old girl!

My story is full of abuse so they leave me alone and don't say horrible things. This is usually what I get as hate mail and my latest one:
I am familiar with the stories and feel sad about what things happened to you and many others, similar or different issues might occur in other groups too. There are many nice people in other churches, also good people at the halls.
It is not an easy task for the headquarter's people on their part, as religious organizations there are many challenges laid upon them, such as leading the group, pressures and coping with human weaknesses, etc. Christianity is an unique system which differs from others on some aspects, it had served mankind with many benefits, humans tend to bring rules and principles based on their own understandings which had caused huge burdens and pressures upon them. I do think many religious leaders started with good intentions and things went wrong afterwards. As humans we enjoy to have certain laws within freedom much more than to live under many religious laws and rules, otherwise it will cause much self-blame, self-indulgence, hypocrisy and grimness, etc. Ancient Israelites were given many good laws, it might serve some special purposes but inevitably caused grimness and sufferings. The majorities will live life against religious rules, no matter good rules or bad. It were happened in some religions too. I don't think their leaders just founding the groups for wealth and fame.I'm still not sure what it says .. LOL

Posting Here: secretly or openly?
by AllAlongTheWatchtower injust curious, how many of you have to hide the fact that you post here from family?
i'm especially thinking of those with spouses who are in, while they themselves either never were, faded, dfed/daed, etc but if you are a child hiding it from parents, that applies too.
if you are posting secretly, how secretive do you have to be?
