I can't believe what I did.
by reneeisorym inso yesterday i was watching the news and i saw something about secret santa.
there is this movement of people who hand random strangers $100 bills at places like laundry mats and thrift stores.
so i was "moved" and decided to give it a shot.

Actually I feel like I might be a little nuts.
I really need someone to tell me it was a good thing and I haven't become a crazy lunitic.

So I was "moved" and decided to give it a shot. I actually went to Walmart and found a lady in sad looking clothes with two small children and handed her a hundred dollar bill. She looked at me with her jaw dropped and said, "Thanks?" I said, "Merry Christmas." and walked away.
So now I feel like I've lost my mind. Did she really need it or just look like it? What is she thinking now? Have I become a crazy lunitic person? Have I actually gone over the edge? Why did I pick her?
I don't want to talk to anyone in my real life about it because the whole idea is for it to be a "secret". I'm not doing too good at that part apparently.
Someone tell me I'm not loosing my mind. I feel like I need to be committed.

New York Slimes to go away?
by BurnTheShips innew york times to go away?.
6) the new york times (nyt) has to repay $400 million in debt in the first half of 2009. it does not have the money.
it plans to mortgage its headquarters, but it is uncertain what that will bring in an uncertain real estate market.

Could be in 15 or 20 years all that will be left are generic papers like the USA Today.
Or people may do like I do -- I subscribe via the kindle. I get the news faster than the print version and I don't have to put on a coat and shoes to get it. I just reach over and grab the kindle still in my pjs in bed.

I've Got To Tell This!
by snowbird inone of the police officers here is a transplanted new yorker who was raised as a jw by his g'ma.. he and i talk a lot about his jw experience, his g'ma, and his children (boy age 18, girl age 11).. his kids are both talented athletes (tennis) and the son won a tennis scholarship to university.
he hopes the daughter will follow in her brother's footsteps.. mr. officer mentioned that one saturday, after a particularly strenuous workout, he gave his daughter a bottle of red gatorade to drink.
he said she resisted drinking it at first, but he put his foot down and made her do it.. well, come sunday, he got an urgent message at work that he was to call home immediately.

I was on a road trip with my mom, aunts, and grandma. We stopped at a truck stop to use the ladies' room. They all made this big embarrassing commotion, and all I could think about were the truckers outside the restroom eating dinner. They must have been like, what in the world is going on with those women?! They had to find "protection" and the whole 9 yards. memories .....
