Red herring
Farkel, that was a two word answer. Now tell the nice folks here as to why it's a "Red herring", please?

I post statistics and facts on North Korea
Here's a cookie. Now, I wasn't talking about stats in N. Korea was I? And I didn't say YOU were a Blind Patriot now did I? "...a few of you are loaded with it."
I do not deny in any way whatsoever about what is going on in N. Korea, I am simply pointing out that the same issues can be thrown at the U.S. and it's foreign policy.
As for those who use "The U.S. isn't perfect" argument, crimeny, you sound like JW's with the "Governing Body". Should you persist on such an argument, then it can be applied to any nation in which your current-media-government-propaganda mind is being led to despise. Hey...if this "isn't perfect" argument works for the U.S., no reason why it shouldn't work for Iraq, China, North Korea, etc.

http://www.bread.org/hungerbasics/domestic.html
(it has links for U.S. Government stats as well...pretty solid)
Why sure Yeru, I see your 1 million and raise you 32 million. As to the percentage that results in "death" let's give you the generous amount of 1% shall we? Looks like I have a point...thanks to you.
Oh wait, that's right, you were talking about how people in the States "choose" to starve. Silly me. I mean after all, what's the U.S. costs in military spending again? (hint: you are walking in to my argument, research) What's the U.S. doing to feed 33 million of their own citizens, the cost? Hmmmm....
Well, looks like what I said stands: Wonderful when it swings all your way doesn't it?
Funny how when U.S. foreign policy being imposed upon other Nations is, without question, supported by the Blind Patriot. I'd like to see a few nations impose a few sanctions on the U.S., maybe a No-Fly zone? How about nuclear disarmament(After all the U.S. is the only nation to use them in warfare thus far)?
U.S. citizens would shit their pants if this happened...but they have no problems when it comes to other parts of the world now, do they? No problem with arm twisting other nations whatsoever. But...stand back Jack...if you start imposing upon the Mighty U.S. of A. ...oh my gooood...watch the shit storm roll!

Sooo...anybody look at the stats for the homeless and people who are starving in the U.S.?
Really?
Wow, must make you feel pretty lucky that other nations aren't seeking sanctions and nuclear disarmament on the U.S.
Wonderful when it swings all your way isn't it?
Blind Patriotism...heh, a few of you are LOADED with it.
even if the united states is the only superpower, can it really make war with iraq, and tackle north korea, and keep an eye on china, and other countries at the same time?
why does the us always have to take care of troubled spots all over the world by itself?
why can't japan and south korea take care of the north korean crisis?
Have any of you had this thought?
"The only country that prohibits other countries from having nuclear arms...is the only country to have used them in war-history"?
No...really...you can't have 'em. We can damnit! We sure know how to use 'em, you don't.
i was just browsing the officail wt site...hmmm i thought we were, but just for the sake of this post i'll admit going there.
they have an article at the url below which i thought was hillarious.
it talks about how the native americans are facing more and more assimilation and the destruction of thier indigenous culture by "the world".
Many Sioux Indians are not pleased to see the faces of white presidents carved on Mount Rushmore, in the Black Hills. On a nearby mountain, sculptors are creating an even bigger carving. It is of Crazy Horse, the Oglala Sioux war leader. The face will be completed by June 1998.
I bet there is an equal number who aren't pleased as to KINGDOM HALLS being on THEIR sacred land also. Hello? WTBTS? Welcome back from last century.
In an interview with Awake!, Cheyenne peace chief Lawrence Hart said that one of the problems affecting Indians "is that we're faced with the forces of acculturation and assimilation.
Yep, and in WTBTS eyes, this exaclty what they need: To be assimilated in to the WTBTS. Hello? WTBTS? Are you trying to help or hinder your article?
*krchk* Reality to WTBTS *krchk*
*krchk* This WTBTS, over *krchk*
*krchk* WTBTS, people aren't stupid, Reality over and out *krchk*
To survive in the modern world, Native Americans have had to adapt in various ways.
Yes, yes, and I'm sure the WTBTS will help them to "adapt" to placing Watchtower and Awake! magazines properly. WTBTS will help them "adapt" to: properly wearing an acceptable suit, nice shiney shoes, 5 meetings a week attendance, proper ways to gossip, hilight with yellow markers, deny culture and embrace Governing Body doctrine, appropriate dresses for women, more quick build Kingdom Halls on sacred land, deny heritage, obliterate independant thinking....
Therein lies the challenge for Native Americans-how to hold on to their unique tribal traditions and values while adapting to the rapidly changing world outside.
Hey, self righteous morons! Yah, you who edit this pile of trash...I see you mentioned the "world outside" and neglected to inform people of "your inside world".
Fighting Drugs and Alcohol
How about: Fighting The White Man's Poision: Organized Christianity?
Are Casinos and Gambling an Answer?
A whole lot more disfellowshippings and disassociations? Because when the various Nations realize that you are no different...if not WORSE...then those trying to "assimilate", they'll be heading out Kingdom Hall doors pretty quick. What Does the Future Hold?
this is my first posting , even though i've started to at least 7 times.
i've been reading this forum for 3 months trying to understand how jw's live their lives away from the work environment and how it affects their life decisions.
i'll explain why i need to know in the rest of the post.
Wow...was it something I typed?

following the deaths by shooting of 2 teenage girls last week, the uk government is speeding through even tighter gun controls than ever before.. already, high court judges have been told to impose a minimum 5 year jail sentence to anyone found in possesssion of a hand-gun in a public place.
also, consideration is being given to outlawing replica firearms as well as air powered weapons.
much is being made of the violent lyrics sometimes contained in rap - music which appears to often endorse gun culture.. see:http://news.bbc.co.uk/ for full story.. englishman..
Nope nobody is invading the U.S. as of now...
But it sure took more then dumping some tea in Boston Bay, now didn't it?
.
in the sixties ted jaracz was a do in california.
one of the witnesses there said he had been in the australian branch before that, top dog i think.. did ozzie or any of the other australian posters know him or hear about what he was like then.
Ladies & Gentlemen, I present to you the first WTBTS Governing Mistress. She was responsible for several articles in the Awake! magazine such as:
What Makes Blue Beach Blue?
Warner Brothers Cartoon: Tazmanian Devil, Truth or Myth?
Dingo Eat Baby
and
We're Sorry About Crocodile Dundee, But At Least We Have Mel Gibson
Man, you people should really research your WTBTS material more often. These gems are priceless.

steve and i attended our very last meeting this evening.
i wrote a thread a few weeks ago about our elder visit and their decision to announce that we were disassociated.
they agreed to wait until we returned from our vacation so i could tell my grandma who still attends via phone link and so she wouldn't have to be alone in her devastation.
Congrats!
Uh...I can't help but notice, there doesn't seem to many people sitting in that Kingdom Hall. It's sorta like a bonus.
