  What is the purpose of life?

  things were different when you were active in the org.

  meetings, talks, service, assemblies, elders meetings, congrgational duties, busy with the hope of a reward of living forever and serving god with eternity in view.

  all of your efforts and goals related to being a jw, your thinking, your views, your life, your future all revolved aroung the org.. with all that aside, what are you doing now?

  riiiight, many reasons for the US to be hated isn't there? Jealousy, stupidity and let's not forget while you're passing judgement on the US that we'd be more hated if we allowed the horror that was Iraq to exist without going in there.

  Here is another reason why most of the people in the world (much of which I have traveled and you have not) do not like the U.S.:

  Ignorant U.S. citizens who have no clue what their government is doing in the rape of other socities and cultures, and then wine on internet message boards about how they do not understand why people dislike American policies when presented with evidence that prove such.

  i don't know why everyone is fussing about individual cases like this.

  this sort of stuff is normal in a war, we show it on tv every day.

  if we don't want this to happen we need to fix our governments and not have any more wars, not make a drama out of something that was inevitable.

  If you are a teenager, I am going to go with this comment as you being extremely ignorant and know not what you type...

  If you are an adult, I feel sorry for you.

  hey guys we get a mention again in the watchtower of feb 15th 2004. page 16 and 17 paragraph 6-10 "guard against deception by apostates" -- it talks about us believing the bible and even accepting jehovah in paragraph 6 but tha we reject the visble part of his organization.

  aren't we bad people?!!

  (btw i tried to scan article but my scanner is not working -- sorry) in paragraph 8 it says we resort to deception and half truths and that our words are counterfeit - and in paragraph 10 the brotehrs are warned to love the organization that has taught them and so not to be listening to us apostates on the internet -- for we see clear evidence that gods blessing is upon his visible organization -- so there you have it brothers.

  can someone give me a sensible explaination as to why the jw's have banned beards?

  i was df'd in '90 just as this was becoming a big deal and at the time i thought it was completely rediculous what with jesus probably having a beard.

  it was one of the many things that led me to seeing that the gb make arbitrary rules and that the organisation has more to do with control than religion.

  Truth, Justice, and the American Way

  ?and not by the standards of one publishing company in which we all here share something in common with.

  as i?ve sat silently for months, browsing this board on occasion, and i still can?t believe there are people here who blind themselves with ?patriotism?

  THIS is what is important. The INFORMATION presented and debated, not the presentation and person.

  This process is what brings about change. My faith wth the people of this board has been restored. Perhaps it's because most of the long time posters have gotten the "hang" of me.

  Is it really the issue with me? Not really. It's the education.

  For the "newbies" and/or "rookies", be what the "new people are these days"....I post to provoke. Nothing more. I'm a "humanist". I believe that there is no "right or wrong"..."evil vs. good" way. No, I'm not a "conservative" nor a "liberal". I am D8TA, the "free thinker".

  My goal is for people to "educate" themselves in current world events, and quit relying on the opinions of government P.R.'s and commercial news media outlets.

  I'm a boat rocker. Nothing more. For with D8TA? This a normal course of our human nature. This is what we are. Groups of people fighting for resources (natural or economic) over other "tribes". It's been what we've been doing since the dawn of humanity. Sort of like nature with entropy. Systems build up, and they break down.

  We are different from the natural world though. We are humanity and we have the ability to change this pattern. The U.S.? China? Be what country is the "big guy" on the block....contributes something to the betterment of the human race. And by that I mean, unifying ourselves beyond the borders drawn on maps...or by language....cultural difference.

  We have very few frontiers left, and to go beyond and find new frontiers will take the efforts of all here on this planet.

  It's debate and dialogue, agreement and disagreement, point & counterpoint that makes we humans grow and understand for a future that insures our survival. Without this causality, we are stagnant and motionless...never growing. Without conflict, we never progress...but there is that chance where we progress to a point where confilinct (construction vs. destruction etc.) will not exist. This is what humanity has as an advantage vs. the natural world.

  Some may get what I'm saying here, some may not.
