How would they explain this one?
by StarTrekAngel inwhile there is plenty of pressure for young jws to refrain from every act of premarital sex, self pleasuring or by engaging with others, there isn't a whole lot of advice on the bible regarding this aspect.
i have just recently began to wonder about it so the only thing i can recall regarding this on the scriptures, is the famous words recorded in 1 cor 7:39 or any other paragraph that speaks against sexual immorality.
however, i came across deut 21:10. check it out.

Sundays Watchtower Study Jan 11th 2015
by anonread indid anyone go to meeting sunday?
i'm curious about how the 'we must be holy' watchtower went and what the comments were like, especially in regards to disfellowshipped family members.

During all the righteous blood comments I leaned over to my spouse and said "you know breast milk has white blood cells in it right?". I paid for that with hostility as usual lol. -

Yeah, I thought I hated meetings before I woke up, now it's a whole new level.
that is hilarious and so true. I feel embarrassed to sit through the talks and WT. The language in the magazines blares mind control "obey without question
godus!". And the comments reveal how most feel very educated by their WT and Awake magazines, but educationally and scientifically the amount of inaccurate and outdated statements that are made from the stage and comments is just embarrassing. One of my favorites is how amazing a habitable planet is. Well it turns out that is not so uncommon after all. I wonder how may years before they need to remove that from the outlines. -

This is very true, this is why I suppose I live the double life they warn about, even now I refuse to let any part of it steer me. Just faded from irritating people in the mornings, giving talks etc. Just occasionally filling a seat, and trying to live my life outside those three and a half hours or so a week. I test the waters with loved ones to to see how that react to questioning the organization or the bible (for me really the bible busts the whole thing by itself being a book of inaccurate information, biased, barbaric behavior, slavery, atrocities, contradictions, and ancient goat herder logic.) Depending on their reaction I'll back off or continue, but usually back off, I think especially now with the die hards, deep down inside they see all that is going on as strange but continue to try and convince themselves otherwise with the familiar mindless banter of "isn't it so loving that...." "Isn't the society amazing how they...." No one says these things ever expecting someone to say "no" its not. Because it's not questions, its them saying despite seeing a blue logo on the kingdom hall I must continue talking myself into this. So it's a bit like a dying injured animal, they are more aggressive in this state because they know its starting to look embarrassing. It's falling apart and they need to fight for every last effort to support it. -

Says have relations so yea, then kick her out. The whole Deut 21:10-14 sounds pretty barbaric, love to hear apologists on this one. Sounds like at the time of relations she becomes wife, but then you can get rid of her. And this also sounds like a sex slave if you read the context. -

So i joined very recently and began posting and commenting without a formal intro. Been reading for a while, decided it was time to jump in. Mentally I am completely cleansed of this thing, but still have to maintain a minimal involvement for spouse and family. While the organization holds no influence over me, I can't change my loved ones who it still does. So for that reason, the meetings go on, and that is about it. Still with a free mind able to rationalize, question, and just think in general, sitting through a meeting is agony. Once you see and know things for what they are. I won't give out too many details about myself for obvious reasons, but I am open to speaking more on that in PM's. I saw a few recent posts of other who read and just joined so they inspired me to give my own into, and possibly see others do the same. I think more Dubs faith are shaken than we realize, but the die hards are afraid of so many things they may not let go, but there still may be so many reading and learning the truth and not the "Truth". -

inheritance
by truthseeker100 ini have a good life and i am now worth around 3 million us.
my two children have their university degrees and a promising future.
what should i do with my money?

The greeks have an expression, "money is like fish, you need to spend it when its fresh" Something along those lines. Now that does't mean waste it away more like grown it. People that are wealthy and get more, grow their money, they don't throw it away, and they have assets. Sometimes it may look to us that they throw it away, but buying high end watches, these are assets, something you can pass on to your kids, some can be bought and later sold for more and so on. Grow it, take 3 and turn it into 6. -

The original bible students did wear these types of things before there was an "Organization". The archives in BK show this. I heard a guide tout it as the original Facebook/social network, because the vary few "Bible Students" that existed used it to identify each other out of the crowd. This was way back, wish I had images of it, but they do exist at HQ. -

This is an interesting documentary just watched on Netflix. See if you can pick out all the similarities between North Korea, and the High Control JW.org.
- Defecting (leaving) not allowed
- Regular (I think it was even weekly) meeting of indoctrination, if you are absent it is noticed and you become suspect.
- All your actions being under close scrutiny by not only the regime, but friends and associates.
- Opinions against the regime punishable
- Leaders own uncle shared differing ideas and he was cut off (killed)
- Outside information and contact are strictly controlled
- And so much more....
