sorry when my mind wanders during indoctrination sessions i come up with this crap.. so i was thinking, when the hebrews wanted a king to be like all the other awesome nations around them, correct me if i am wrong, but god wasn't with it?
that was their idea, and another thing he "allowed".
now typically when man decided to go by their own wisdom against god's direction he'd wash his hands of it and completely step away and let them do it on their own.
Sorry when my mind wanders during indoctrination sessions i come up with this crap.
So I was thinking, when the Hebrews wanted a king to be like all the other awesome nations around them, correct me if I am wrong, but god wasn't with it? Right? That was their idea, and another thing he "allowed". Now typically when man decided to go by their own wisdom against God's direction he'd wash his hands of it and completely step away and let them do it on their own. But in the case of having a king, he seemed pretty well involved no? How does this make sense?
Personally I think this is more proof that the whole OT is so unharmonious but very political and used as propaganda and control for the time when certain things were really written. God: "I don't want you doing this, but since I'm gonna let you do it anyway, I'll anoint the kings ok?" Such rubbish. Now other times he'd be like you are all alone, best of luck. Or even outright aggressive, he didn't sanction it now people have to die.
Silly desert God, he seems to change with the minds of men
page 6 of the september 2015 public wt, under the heading "how is our ministry financed"our work is supported entirely by voluntary donations.
(2 corinthians 9:7) in 1879, the second issue of this magazine stated: zions watch tower [as this magazine was then called] has, we believe jehovah for its backer, and while this is the case it will never beg nor petition men for support.
we have not wavered from that policy.
Good catch cappy,
This thing they put in their Sept magazine mirrors the oxymoron comment by Lett
"We never have and never will ask for money...
Please send money"
are you familiar with the motto "professionals built the titanic amateurs built the ark?".
i find it somewhat annoying.
i've been looking for a good analogy like amelia earhart was a professional pilot dorothy was just a girl from kansas but she got back home..
Thats basically makes about as much sense as saying something about the Empire building the Deathstar, it's not a good analogy if its based on fiction
in 1897, j.j. thomson discovered the electron.
this was the first constituent part of the atom which, for 2,000 years, was thought to be indivisible.
today, we know of 18 elemental particles following the recent discovery of the higgs boson, the so-called god particle.. back in 1897, most people believed in god because there weren't even any theories as to how the universe came into being.
i don't have a problem using jehovah but i find it funny that in the broadcasting for this month, they go to great lengths to discuss why we use jehovah's name but don't actually mention how they got to it with no vowels.
again they exclude information.. he mentions jesus name being yeshua or yehoshua, but we know how to say his name in hebrew there is no conjecture there.
one understanding is because the jews stopped using that name the old scribes would copy down the tetragrammaton but then put the vowel markings for adonai (which is the hebrew word for lord) above it to remind them to say adonai.
hello,.
i am currently in a discussion with a jw about the governing body.. i have read alot of articles regarding it, however whenever i bring up what i have read, i am refuted with scripture, such as acts 15, where they say there was a governing body, who sent out elders and men etc.. does anyone have a website that i may not know of, that has answers to what they refute with?
or any help here or good thought provoking questions to respond with would be much appreciated.. thank you kindly.
when it finally clicked,.
and you realized there was no 1914, there was no generation that would see the end of a wicked system, there was no paradise around the corner, .
what went through you mind?.
after gradually waking up to ttatt im finding myself with this question:.
since it is so easy to be indoctrinated with jw beliefs, are there other areas in my life where i'm also under influance of other false beliefs?
from the culture i've grown up with, school etc?.
Probably, i have a question, were you raised in, or not?
