do any of you ex-jw's still believe in god?
even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.
the god of the old testimate is an angry murderer who approved rapes and slavery and killed thousands of men, women and children.

http://www.jw.org/en/news/legal/by-region/world/jehovahs-witnesses-in-prison-2/.
the witnesses make reference to article 18 of the international covenant on civil and political rights, in reference to their not being able to practice their religion in certain places.
how despicable when (in my mind) their policy of disfellowshipping, apostasy, etc, causes them coerce members to keep this religion.
“Your reputation precedes you”
if I had a dime every time I heard that...
I guess it could be worse, some people are proceeded by their stupidity.
Well lets see, lets start with going back to 1879... your precious pseudo cult did not yet practice their special brand of assholery. no I believe that started in the 40's? Yes they actually used to condemn the catholics for excommunication... imagine such a thing Mr Says. Lets continue...
Jehovah's Witnesses religious freedom is a big badge they like to wear, but, and that's a big butt Mr Says, the story is quite different when it comes to the personal liberties and religious freedoms of its members. DID I STUTTER AND SAY I HAD NEWS CLIPPINGS OF THEM IMPRISONING APOSTATES??? no actually I never said that, you came up with that fallacy all by your little self!
No they practice contradiction. It can be demonstrated by considering this standard of religious freedom as stated in Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief". Article 20 says, "No one may be compelled to belong to an association."
Yes it is well supported and without any doubt your beloved cult compel their members to stay within their association by imposing a nearly intolerable cost for resigning their membership. The penalty for leaving is enforced shunning by family and former friends causing many to stay in despite their earnest desire to leave.
That Mr Says is NOT freedom of religion.

I have never been speaking about the god of classical monotheistic theology...
Why use the word 'God' as all? What can you claim about this.... idea? Is it he? She? It? Them? A series of never ending responsible parties? The monolith from 2001? what is 'God'????
The minute you say 'God' you have attached the idea of a personality solely responsible and above everything.
You call what you do not understand 'God' instead of just, unknown. Or undiscovered yet, because every discovery you reveal, god is not there.
You see the grand canyon and you say god must have carved this, then you find out no, it was water, well what is water made of, and you keep going and going and you find no 'God' just more elements making up reality, not a person.
so i just met with an old 'friend' who wanted a 'chat' after no contact for the best part of 4 years.
she obviously heard about the wonderful news of my abrupt fade :d. i guess i wanted to prove to myself that any future meet ups/chats with jw's would be pointless.
needless to say i proved myself right.
any one know of anything?

Does anyone know of anything published by the WT that comes even close to this, as I sure as hell can't think of any written material that had a retraction or apology???!
HELL NO! They blamed the rank and file for the 1975 debacle, not sure if its in print or not, it might be. But they accused over zealous members for creating that buz. But they never have and never will apologize for anything! They are (in their own world) never wrong! Even when they are, its not wrong, its just... "refined".
