Elders, oh my God what a bunch of losers!
by Crazyguy inok i don't mean to put all of them into just one box so to speak, their are some that are smart successful etc.
but my god most of them are just wasted space, ignorant, no drive, horrible jobs, make nothing for income and the only thing in life they have going for them is this title.
no wonder so many will not wake up and hold on to this stupid cult, it's all they have.

Ah morph. You are here though awake, that alone completely disqualifies you from this negative category lol. No doubt there is a variety if elders. And I think some regions might be worse than others. I think there are three kinds of elders. Those that eventually wake up. Those that could but hang on to the dream and the rest. "The rest" i feel might be a large number though than the other two. They are not like you my Thor worshipping friend. They are incapable of waking. -

Jephthah's atrocity
by opusdei1972 inin judges chapter 11 we read that jephthah committed an atrocity by offering his daughter in sacrifice.
however, the watchtower, study edition of april 2016, reads:pages 6 and 7:not only was jephthah a mighty warrior but he was a student of gods dealings with his people.
jephthahs thorough grasp of israels history gave him a clear picture of what was right and what was wrong in jehovahs eyes.

Doesn't the society use the proposal about her just sacrificing her right to have a family
yes they believe she sacrificed her freedom in exchange to hang out at the temple doing temple stuff ala someone who goes to work at bethel for life. But if you read it in context its saying she was sacrificed, not sent to be a templite.
Another example of witnesses making an explanation (even if they pull it out of their ass) that will support their beliefs. Not what is really in history or the dumb bible.

Its sad but true. I know some sharp ones, but they are few and far between. Most that are very zealous and out giving public talks are uneducated simpletons with attitudes that scream insecurity and self righteousness.
Think about how low you have to be to stick up for and take orders from this:

Yes these are the types of things I discovered about the bible before learning TTATT and realizing the Watchtower company was a bunch of liars.

Muslims Mocking ISIS Deserve Respect
by cofty inabu bakr al-baghdadi put out an audio recording on saturday calling on muslims to join the fight.
it is his first public pronouncement in over 7 months.. a number of muslims have taken to twitter to mock the self-styled caliph of the islamic state with comments like "i've got star wars on sunday, maybe later" and "would do but there's engineering work on the trains around london bridge.
soz".

They do need to be encouraged to keep speaking out, sadly I think their very small voice is drowned out by the disproportionately large Muslim apologists crying foul for criticizing the religion. Based on ISIS practicing a plausible and accurate interpretation of the faith the whole thing should be criticized.
I still compare those who speak out to us. They are NOT Muslims. They are for more ex-Muslims/apostate/infidels.

Good list. I think many things contribute. The organization has cancer in a way, those determined to stay in are doing their best but the information age, the confusing, rapid changing ever less relevant doctrine, and repackaging are eating at anyone allowing themselves to be honest. It has to be the most exhausting fight faithful witnesses have ever had to put up. Fighting the truth for "The Truth". I think like termites quietly the structure is getting eaten away at, it may not be super visible from the members and looking in, but I think its in a lot worse shape than we think! -

Governing Body Letter details things that "have never been done before." - Really?
by cappytan in[note: copy/pasted this with permission from reddit.].
once each year, the governing body writes a direct letter to the congregation members included in the yearbook.
in his annual message to the catholic faithful (urbi et orbi) delivered on christmas day, the pope spoke about world peace, terrorism, and the refugee crisis.

People who are happy in the org
by jhine ini don't know if i can put my musings clearly into words , but i' ll try to be coherant !
on a couple of other threads lately folk have said that they have no wish to disenchant jws who are happy in the org .
those who have no personal problems and are content to stay in , thinking that it is good way to live and the nearest thing to the truth .

I was happy too. I think the key to happiness is always making the best of whatever situation you are in. I can say I am happier as NOT a witness that is for damn sure and that I have realized that I never had the JW packaged happiness they preach because it's not real. Looking back now I can separate the happy person I am with or without the organization and jw brand of happiness that was a fake smile.
