  Ex JW's - Which Christian denomination are you with now and why?

  this is a question for ex jw's who have joined another christian faith group.

  the purpose of my question iis to find out which christian faith group you chose after leaving watchtower and what convinced you to travel this new spiritual path you are on.

  i am interested to know because i personally would like to find a genuine faith group where i can feel true christian liberty as i initially thought i had with the witnesses.

  I actually became an atheist before ttstt. I highly recommend that. Start learning about and reading your bible for real. Then you can skip that step of joining another Abrahamic religion or sci-fi cult.

  How do you tell your spouse you no longer believe in God?

  so i was hoping to get some insight on this subject of telling your spouse that you no longer believe in god.

  for two people who have been jehovahs witnesses for 20 years together, talking about this seems to be real hard for me.

  i still pray with my wife before meals but that's about it.

  You have time and options. Jws are in a prison of beliefs their mind must defend at all costs. Keep progressing steadily and only give them what they can take.

  I stopped talking with witnesses about my "beliefs" and that includes my wife. The way I tell them I don't believe in God is as follows.

  Is the term "worldly" outdated?

  yesterday i had to listen to the co from a spanish congregation on the phone.

  he said the fds has been gradually moving away from the word "worldly" and teaching jws not to use the term anymore.

  has anyone heard this in their congregation or heard the term "non-believers" used before?

  In written form it was done away with sometime ago. So the official word fron a whole back was we call them "unbelievers". But still witnesses say it all the time still. The change never took. You won't likely see it in print or hear it from the stage though.

  The story of my exit

  i have been lurking here for about 6 months, and being the last day of the year, and ready to start the new one afresh, i want to share the story of our exit from the org.

  i have found the personal experiences of others of immeasurable value, (and its been a while since a good exit story has been posted) that i hope this can be of benefit to at least someone.. .

  my mother became a jehovahs witness when i was about 9 or 10. i remember initially hating all of the new sanctions put on our lives (no birthdays and christmas anymore) but for some reason i soon after joined her in attending the meetings and eventually got baptized at the age of 14. my staunch catholic father converted a couple of years later.

  I think under the surface it is ripening for a large change. Yes it may never go away, but something could give way that will create a decrease instead of increase. I think they have hit their apex, they are going to start heading in the other direction.

  As I said earlier I think it is full of termites. You can't see it from outside but inside people are being eaten up by information, their own doubts, and the blundering nature of the org. Even if they plaster a smile on and say "its the truth!!" Its no longer sound.
