I said I was gonna go, but I did not..
Oh well! Cheers!
i missed the jw, history making, all new mid week meeting!
and i am just so torn up over it, i've had a few drinks to drown my deep sorrow in, missing such a once in a lifetime event!.
oh how can i ever get over, such a lost opportunity like that, just don't know if i'll never get over it!.

so i haven't been to a midweek meeting in some time.... but i must attend this first clam (not to be confused with 'klan') meeting.
.
want to take a look for curiosity sake then go back to never attending another midweek meeting again.
So I failed. I didn't go. In the end I just didn't want to go to a meeting. I've been so good at avoiding the midweek meeting for months now it just felt so much better to stay home.
Side note though. Wife didn't stay for the whole thing. She came home. All she said to me was they were having tons of technical problems and the AV stuff not working. #fail.
Sounds like big J's chariot has some bugs.
is this true?
has anyone heard of it?
saw it on my facebook.. "jan. 6 bethel update 108 elderly bethelites getting the boot.. brooklyn, ny.
here in the uk new drinking guidelines have been issued which suggest "no more than 14 units a week - equivalent to six pints of beer or seven glasses of wine.".
another piece of the advice which is getting a lot of attention is that "if people drink, it should be moderately over three or more days and that some days should be alcohol-free.".
already people are making cries of "nanny state!
I've found as I've gotten older that even the occasional "getting hammered" is just no fun - it just takes longer and longer to recover and the blergh doesn't make up for the "fun" (what fun?!).
Ain't that the truth.

Let's do it man!
Some one was talking about stress and drinking. I eat when I'm stressed, Comfort food. I drink when I'm happy. It's the cherry on top. And I love to drink so I do it when I feel good or need to be creative.

We split a bottle almost every evening (Which is too much according to the guidelines...) but I don't see us stopping....
I think that is just right
as i mentioned in another post i used to serve as an elder for 2 decades.
i was involved in a number of jc.
some i dealt with are good friends now.
Thinking about what you are saying, I suppose "Apostate" could have two separate sub meanings.
I have actually observed someone like you mentioned. She was DF'd multiple times and was overall a very angry malicious person. When she got DF'd she bad mouthed everyone and seemed "apostate". Sometime later while out she actually woke up. All those times DF'd she never learned TTATT it turns out.
She was a different person after that. She was very activist oriented towards the organization but in a different way. Her hatred and maliciousness no longer seemed to control her. I didn't even recognize this new person who was not bitter and hateful.
Now in my mind when I think of "Apostate" as you used it in the OP, my mind goes to my second definition. Not necessarily someone who reacts out of emotion, but someone who saw what is going on and wanted to extricate themselves.
Still saying she was an apostate=dishonest paints with a wide brush used within the organization. Your impression at that time may have been that's what apostates were. Now I hope you see the majority of people who 'apostatize' may not every be on a JC much less discuss with the media or witnesses their experience.
so went to the meeting last night.
i had not been to one since before the holiday break (3 weeks ago).
besides, it was our first meeting in the new format.

I've never smoked either, not even once. Smells horrible.
well that is fine unless you are talking about a delicious cigar.. now that is another story, especially with esspresso or whisky.
