Our situations are very similar, I am 37, married 17 years, baptized at 15. She was uber dub while I was waking up a few years ago, she has changed a great deal and actually sees the org as out of whack now, its been a long, struggle, and everyone's is different. I never thought she would be the way she is now, and we had horrible horrible fights over all this in the past. Shoot me a message and we can talk.

But where else should we go? Can you answer this question?
by purrpurr inhaving watched many jc youtube videos one question that gets asked is "where else would you go?".
in other words if not jehovah's witnesses then what other religion or organisation would you go to?.
it's one that i have trouble answering, what would you say?.

I'd rather have questions without answers than answers I can't question.
Just because a religion or ideology gives you their explanation to everything in the universe or hope, it doesn't make it truth. Its an empty statement. Islam they could say where else where we get our 70 virgins, or Mormons our own planet...
Its a dead end thought stopping comment that is empty. It means they've given up and are reduced to the most idiotic response.

Possible Military Coup in Turkey!
by cofty inif this does turn out to be the case it could have very serious implications.... turkey hovers between western freedom and democracy and an islamic hell.
europe has been bending over backwards to keep turkey on-side and promising it fast-tracked entry to the eu in return for it's cooperation in controlling mass migration from the east.. the situation is unclear at the moment but there are tanks on the streets....

Our Humble Origins
by Coded Logic inwow, this just blew my mind.
it's an issue i've had with the claims people make about our supposed divine genesis but don't think i've ever seen anyone so precisely hit the nail on the head.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdumiut9m3m.

Fundamentalism Vs Radicalism
by freemindfade ini had a thought this morning and i am putting it out for discussion.. when a christian is a nutjob we call them fundamentalist but a nutjob muslim is "radical".. doesn't one detach the person from the religion while one puts them square at the root?
shouldn't we call radical muslim terrorists "fundamentalist"?

Peace among everyone, or among "true" believers?
They have scriptures that say things about how bad it is to kill an "innocent" man, however according to this same book, if you are not Muslim you are not "innocent". Or what about scriptures that encourage you to beat your wife?
Radical/extreme Islam terrorism is a plausible interpretation of the Muslim religion.

Radical: gives me more of a sense of perversion of an ideology
Fundamental: more of a truest/literal interpretation of an ideology
I believe saying "radical" Islam takes these action too far away from the fact that they are plausible interpretations and actions of the religion. It makes them seem separate.
