American kids should have to take mandatory military service from 18-24. I bet that would change a lot of things without having to radically change gun laws.

Another School Shooting: The Gun Violence/Mental Illness Debate Continues
by jp1692 inin the aftermath of the valentine's day school shooting in florida, i have read quite a number of articles, blogs and posts about the event.
it is disturbing--and i think inexcusable--that many people take the opportunity to use horrible tragedies such as this to push their own particular agenda.. in particularly insensitive and tone-deaf tweet, conservative political commentator tomi lahren wrote: "can the left let the families grieve for even 24 hours before they push their anti-gun and anti-gunowner agenda?
my goodness.

The second amendment isn't just about guns, it's about how a country was set up with
CITIZENS not SUBJECTS
America is not a democracy, it's a republic where the
GOVERNMENT is accountable to the PEOPLE (not the other way around)
Call it outdated, but the human potential for tyranny didn't go away magically. It's still real, and just because you live in a relatively nice western culture, don't think it ever will.
America is about liberty, and it will never be perfect or without consequences, but it's not for everyone.
Don't like it?
- Change it
- Accept it and shut up
- Or leave
“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” — Ben Franklin

Is the USA too big?
by Diogenesister infred deftone on another thread about the tragic events at m. stoneman douglas school:.
the us constitution wasn't written for 50 states either.
the country has gotten too big and i think the solution is fragmentation.

the American people need to stop expecting Washington DC to do everything and let the states handle those things that are within their area of responsibility.
Amen to that
Here is another interesting questions, whats the difference between a Democrat and socialist lol

Your a fucken liar Freemind you know that answer as I do
I can only guess as to why I would choose. That's why I said cheap and light.
I also said he could afford to buy full auto at 20k a piece. Or a ruger mini 14. Same fire power. (Not an "assault weapon" ) may have even been more accurate. He could have went AK for a bigger ballistic. He was probably just comfortable with their operation though.
You mad? Lol

If we focus on mass shootings as a means of understanding how to reduce the number of people killed by guns in America, we’re likely to implement laws that don’t do what we want them to do — and miss opportunities to make changes that really work. Gun violence isn’t one problem, it’s many. And it probably won’t have a single solution, either...

So you need data to back something that is so easy to contemplate and rationally understand..
I like basing my opinions on facts, you should give it a shot.
Hint = put the drugs down, stop cruising pro gun sites with all of its biased up information and rationalize what your thinking and saying.
Drugs are so cool. like guns! I already showed you, Los Angeles Times and the DOJ crime statistics are not progun sites unless I missed something, you can keep saying the same lies over and over and over it won't make them true.
You can do your own thinking now , your not in a mind controlling cult anymore.
Thanks
Just to reiterate ... why did the Vegas shooter choose his AR-15 with a Bumpstock attached than the other guns he owned ?
No idea, and neither you or anyone else knows. Intellectual honesty. I can tell you that AR's are relatively cheap, lightweight. Although for the amount of money he spent on all those 47 guns and BS. he could have probably actually bought a couple of fully automatic machine guns. He could have been more dangerous. But most importantly once again class....
The human desire to kill is far more deadly than any weapon

This is the type of thing nonthinkers like fink fail to understand during their virtue signaling

I'm more concerned about facts based in reality, maybe you should too.
You've have time and time again proved the complete and utter opposite.

The statistics aren't his opinion brainiac, still just cold hard facts no matter how much you throw a fit about it.
This idiot probably thinks like you that taking assault rifles out the possession of the population isn't going to lower the carnage by individualized massacres.
I would never say something so absolute, let me ask you, do you have data to back that up? that taking assault rifles out of the pop will lower carnage? No, you don't because there isn't any. If anything there is more to the contrary that it's inconclusive. FACT: Gun crime was already declining BEFORE the last AWB, it declined DURING, and AFTER it ended and people bought millions of these scary looking things. Amazing how logic works isn't it?
This guys opinion is pretty sound, he is implying halfwits like yourself who squeal "MUH GUN CONTROL" don't help to change anything, you don't add anything meaningful, just gridlock discussion so you can virtue flag. This guy was even denouncing the NRA but you probably didn't actually read it did you.
