Vidiot, yes, to echo what my mom and I am sure about at least 3 million other witnesses are say about AMIII comments that seemed crazy and brash. They will compare it to jesus saying things that made people say this is madness and leave, then the few that remained were like "who else are we to go to?" and its going to thin out the dubs, which it may, but that will be there logic. The org needed to be refined, so the crazy rants accomplished this... smh -

Ding, exactly! that is what I do, the meetings have become my biggest cause of disbelief against this cult and the bible. Rational non-cognetive bias thinking turns on the light to all this BS, I always look around and see who I think is like me, a freethinker undercover. -

The Plurality of God in Old Testament
by Clambake ini am not going to claim to be any kind of bible expert or a good writer or anything like that but do you ever notice how the wts has completely whitewashed this idea or anything relating to this..
from the beginning of the bible in the beginning god said let us make man in our own image , to the term elohim which literally means gods , to the angel of the lord in the old testament which is identified to being with god and god himself.
it is just kind of interesting when you read the book of john in the new testament and you start to read things like the word was with god and the word was god or no one has seen the father only the son it kind of makes sense without really fully understanding it.

Crazyguy is on point, the reality is the Jews did not create monotheism and archeologically and even in the OT even though it is condemned most the time they were involved in pagan worship. The reality is like most things in jewish religion and the OT and even NT, the ideas were borrowed (plagiarized) from Egypt. Egypt at one point had a pharaoh that changed things, the name escapes be at the moment, but they had a similar belief system with a hierarchy with the sun god as the "almighty chief god" as it were. they went from pagan, to monotheism back to polytheistic paganism. Really genesis simply does refer to pluralism very early on..."let us make man in our image. Now from now looking back (2+2=5) we say "oh that was jesus he was talking to".
Bottom line the OT probably wasn't written by moses, but concocted by a much much later isrealite king as a political tool. This is why the bible is patchwork of old pagan ideas that were recorded well before even the supposed writing of the bible.
If you do some research on the archeology of the Canaanites, the jews arch nemesis in the bible pages, you find they in fact worshiped YHWH... just one of the their gods, and that infact the jews were not the enemies of the canaanites, but WERE canaanites.
Rewriting ones past in order to control people in the present is nothing new, its that what the "Society" is doing?

Yes the carts they are trying to reinvent the golden age of this thing.
Instead of sandwich boards...carts
Instead of phonographs...ipads, no more share a scripture "watch this" or "go to this site"
Instead of the cross and crown pin...jw.org pin
They with all the failed doctrine, and peoples ability to access to so much information on the internet, I think they are dumbing the witnesses down more and putting them in a box. We used to be taught to defend ourselves with a bible, but most people didn't have the info they have now, can you imagine as a witness calling on someones door who went to jwfacts and started firing off questions? Of course I know when I was younger I would just believe they were reading lies about witnesses and they were severely misinformed because thats the I was told to believe under fear of being shunned or dying at Armageddon for thinking otherwise.
Its not my grandfather JW, but in some ways it still is. The cultish orwellian control is the same, but the model is much more transparent and under threat. The organization is changing everyday, and those unable to think rationally just see it as "progress" while the rest of us see it for what it is, scrambling to reinvent and rebrand before anyone notices the man behind the curtain (wizard of Oz reference).
The gb now appears on jw.tv which I don't think is great for the org, yes the die hards say its the best thing ever, but I think it's exposing some as not some angelic benevolent brothers of christ. Which for the diehards (here comes another 1984 reference) is still 2+2=5... "isn't it so great, to see how they are just like us". Anyone able to take a second from the cult flow and stand back and look can see the utopian veil has been lifted of this thing for many. I honestly believe that most people doubt what they teach, and the bible, but have the mentality of so many that if not this than what? which is a dangerous trap to living a life with meaning and purpose.

Good people in the organization are just that good people, the idea one is intrinsically tied to the other is not right. Most my family that are uber are just very good people. I believe they would be this way in , or if they had never been contacted. There are great people inside with great motives. Doesn't make the whole thing not a cult. There are also a lot of aholes. Its funny how the good people the credit is given to the org, but the @$$holes are just "imperfect people in a perfect organization" and the org gets a pass from being responsible for this. Its all BS and if you believe being JW makes you good thats cognitive bias based. I've known more atheist that were honest, kind, would do anything for you, much more than most any dub I've ever known. And I've been in this thing from birth for decades. Ive traveled been in "good halls" and "Bad halls" I feel pretty rounded, and I am telling you good people are just good people. A good witness is a good person, a good atheist is a good person. The end. -

Reason why God wanted/made humans write the scriptures
by looter injehovah's witnesses believe that god sent humans to write the bible because his servants can relate better to humans since they are humans.
i heard that at a meeting two weeks ago.
it does not make sense to me at all but i do not know how to explain it.

"Jehovah ALWAYS had/used an organization". How would you reply?
by EdenOne inin a recent meeting with elders, an argument was used to the effect that jehovah has always [= throughout history] used, or operated through, an organization; therefore, the wts must be that organization today, since god must be using one.
naturally, i know what arguments i've used to counter that argument.
but i'm interested in hearing yours.

Well if you feel the need to believe the bible... when Jesus showed up his organization. Was corrupt. In fact the Hebrews were disobedient more of the time worshiping baal than the big J. It's all nonsense
