I saw and heard something in a Kingdom hall I thought I would never witness!
by HowTheBibleWasCreated inwhen i was a kid i would hear religious songs on tv and start sining them... not knowing they were church songs... one day i started singing the hallelujah song (not sure the exact name of the song) my father quickly gave me a hard slap on the mouth and said if i ever sang that song again he would take his belt off and beat my butt until it was red!.
well fast forward 30 years..... the public speaker was missing today and so tv.jw>org to the rescue.... instead they decided to play the new video about the last hundred years since 1914.. instantly the hall was filled with the exact same song i was punished for!
yes a church song filled the hall for almost 5 minutes as we watch br.

Nevermind. Found it. They forgot to mention "too bad Rutherford and the rest ruined it and made it a mainstream cult." Naive. -

Shunning Styles 101. Any I missed? Care to elaborate?
by Open mind inmy oldest brother got baptized at 12 and realized he was 100% gay at 12 1/2.
sucky timing huh?
he fought the fine fight of the abstinent until his mid-twenties and then decided he couldn't live like that anymore.

Funny. Jw.org says this about shunning:
"What of a man who is disfellowshipped but whose wife and children are still Jehovah’s Witnesses? The religious ties he had with his family change, but blood ties remain. The marriage relationship and normal family affections and dealings continue"
Very misleading to outside persons. This is twisted. WE know this is talking about husband and wife and young kids. non-witnesses would no catch this. They read "The religious ties he had with his family change, but blood ties remain." very misleading. Shame on you gb. Shame shame shame.

One day assembly
by Sour Grapes inat a recent one day assembly i walked away with the thought that the wtbts sure does not like witnesses who have the opportunity to make a good living.
there were, in one day, three experiences of witnesses who turned down "6 figure salaries" because there would be some traveling involved and some meetings would be missed as well as missing family worship night.
i thought it strange that the exact phrase was used of "6 figure salary".

I have been totally bad mouthed by my family for having a successful life Of sorts. Even though that has nothing to do with my fading. They use any success I've had to say how horrible I am. Even though it doesn't make me miss meetings etc. Redundant bullshit makes me miss meetings. -

March Broadcast- Jehovah is speeding up the work
by adjusted knowledge ini watched some of the segments on the jw broadcast.
in the video they showed how they managed their inventory orders for the congregations.
at the conclusion it was stated by the narrator how god is speeding up the work.. the problem is the system they implemented has been used for over two decades in logistics.

Welcome and well put, I agree with your sentiments. Many see (especially now) how bumbling the GB is, and they may even laugh or mock them, but if you criticize too far to the point of eluding this is not god's organization, the cult defenses go up quick. scandal, doctrine, failed prophecies... most are content to tolerate these things... the real fight is waking them up to the fact that it is a cult and operates as such. Most don't want to confront this reality, I have heard already from my family who are distraught over what they believe are my views, that if its not the truth they have wasted their lives, a sad and distorted view that keeps them hoping.
I look forward to speaking more with you, PM if you like, how long ago were you in Bethel? If you are comfortable PMing that, if not I understand.

Did Jonah knew more than Jehovah? smart man!
by prologos insaturday's daily text: jonah 3:10 " --god felt regret--that he had spoken--" so jonah must have had a premonition, that he would be made to look like a fool because of his preaching, that is probably the real reason why he went to spain, tasted the fishy gastric juices for 3.5 days.
because the all knowing god could not be bothered to foresee that the ninevites would change their attitude, --- bible nonsense.
"god is adaptable" .

James Mixon
yhwh also appointed a worm at one point. That scripture always made me laugh. Perhaps a worm and a whale will be sitting in judgement up there with the 144000.

"Big Fish in small goldfish bowls"
by stuckinarut2 inyou know, the more we think about it, jehovah's witnesses are just like "big fish in small goldfish bowls".. yes, they may appear important, or "big" but this is only within a very small sphere of influence - yes only within a small and limited world.. to those outside of that small insular world, they are "no-bodies", unimportant, or at least insignificant in the real scheme of life.. so, the next time something from the witness world seems to be a big issue in our lives, step back and look at things from "outside of the goldfish bowl" .

Awake at last
I think that contributes. Although I know some that went through all the way through college and still seem to have this strange behavior. I think it's because everything in the world is "so satantic" more people are turning inward into the cult and having a narrower and narrower world view.

Why attack?
by newqatarjob inas someone brought up as a jw and been an elder and been disfellowshipped (twice!!!
) i find it difficult to understand why ex jws have to attack the religion, yes religion, not cult or sect.
i am no longer disfellowshipped just do not want to practice anymore.

How many Dubbers stay away from the internt?
by dogon ini know of several who have nothing to do with the internet as if it will lead them off into oblivion.
how many do you know that feel this way?

This was how it was for many, especially older ones. However with the last few years developments, if you aren't on the Internet all the time on your tablet, well you aren't a witness anymore. One exception though... only jw.org otherwise you will see pornography, apostate thinking, or fall of into the oblivion of actually learning about the real world.
